great brew love the 4-paks instead of the 24oz bottle from last year its had 2 runs here in Minneapolis with just cases per store each time

Four pack huh? I must have missed that. I didn't like the 24oz due to all the malt/sweetness coming out as it warmed. Not to mention the alcohol content. Only having a little at a time would make it worth buying again, maybe. 12oz bottles I assume? How much are they going for?

The 4 packs are great (although now i hear they might be putting big foot in a 4 pack too), in CT they are going for about $10 per four pack.

I thought it's a tongue number and pretty boozy. Still decent, not great. Just my impression

I bought 2 4-packs yesterday and it's pretty good. I'm gonna do a review of it tonight. It's hard when PtE is so abundant around me to find a DIPA that is always is fresh.

Totally agree, I was surprised how much I liked it. I know this is a bold statement and I'll probably get slammed for it, but having had both recently I'd love to slip somebody a glass of Hoptimum at a bar where Pliny the Younger was being served just to see if they noticed.

yeah, this year has been great for out of left field (D)IPAs. lagunitas sucks was a real, "whoa, this beer is that good??" moment. i think 2012 hoptimum is even better, and i didn't like 2011 (too boozy). on my 3rd 4pk of hoptimum, and probably not my last ._. (though i split them a few ways).

And Apple Valley #3 had some yesterday afternoon. Along with 1/23 Abrasive, so you know stuff's not flying off the shelves.

I'm happy for the size change.

I enjoyed my first ever hoptimum while I was out on lake washington, great day, the sun made an appearance yesterday which is rare for this time of year in the great northwest. I'm glad I got to pick up a 4 pack while it's still pretty fresh.

It's going to be pretty fresh for a while.

We decided to make Hoptimum a quasi-seasonal this year (part of a new series we call the high-altitude series) Should be available pretty regularly from now through August. We've already done several brewers and I'm sure there will be lots more to be done of the coming months.

    Cheers!

I've had it on tap twice in the last few weeks and I have to say it's much better than last year's, much more pine resin and a proper long bitter finish. Great stuff.
