Were every single one of these infected or just some?

I grabbed a bottle at Capone's in PA, excited since I had never seen it in a store before (my impression from Philly Beer Week was that it barely hits the shelves). I opened it tonight and realized it's actually a 2012, which would be pretty irritating if they were still selling it over a year after it had been recalled.

It's honestly not bad though, more acidic than I was expecting but still mostly coffee.

All of the bottles that I opened were slightly sour...I don't know if they were infected, but they tasted nothing like the draft version I had earlier this year. That one was strong coffee, barrel, amazing stoutness. I keep opening my bottles hoping for that but instead I get a slightly sour stout with no barrel characteristics

I got a four pack in the last release and opened one and it was horrible sour. I called the brewery and wanted me to open the others which were just as bad. They sent me a check to refund after I gave him the where/when I got the bottles from. Good customer service for CW!

Hey man, I actually bought both years of Peruvian Morning @ Capones little while ago..

Both of ours were infected, and we ended up pouring them out...We emailed Matt..

Interesting, I've had both 2012 and 2013, and I would simply describe it as having no barrel characteristics. If anything, the straight bourbon barrel stout had a twinge of sourness to it, but neither had much in the way of barrel flavor. I'm not convinced that the light barrel character isn't intentional, although I've only sampled a couple PMs and a couple BBSs, so who knows. I do know I've had better luck with the BBBW after it ages for a couple of years, and will probably stick to just buying a couple of those each year.

I give up on this beer. I wanted to love it, but the 6 times I have tried it the beer has always been infected, ranging from slightly to puckering sour. So disappointing.

Wait, mine were from Capone's too. Small world. I'll have to email Matt.

The 2014 batch on tap at CW 16 yesterday definitely wasn't infected, amazing beer. Bought a 4pk, hopefully it's the same as the tap.

I drank a bunch of the '12. I got 1 4 pack that was infected. It should not be tart or acidic at all. I found the infected ones had a champagne like carb with a head that fizzl3d fast and tasted thin. This beer is excellent when it's "on."

Peruvian Morning from two years ago was almost entirely infected. After a month or two I never had another good bottle, pretty sure the entire batch went south.

Last year's Peruvian Morning was hit & miss. I had about equal parts of good/bad beers. I found two "lost" four-packs in the cellar about a month ago - one was still killer, one was rancid milk.

But it's so damn good when it's fresh & on, I bought a case like I do every year at CW last night. But it's not going to hang around so long this year!

What I heard from my Wisconsin friends is the PM distributed within WI was fine and pretty much everything else was infected.

I had a lost bottle from last year in my cellar. Drank it Friday before heading to the CW16 party and it was great. Had it on tap at the party and purchased 3 4 packs...hoping they are ok because on tap it was very delicious.

I still have 5 bottles that I am pretty sure are infected
(As I have drain poured some of the them) I bought at the coffee grounds in Eau Claire. I bought three more 4pks recently in Minnesota that have been just fine.

I was hoping to get my girlfriend's dad, who lives in WI, to score me a 4pk. I hope that they are ok.

Maybe the third time is the charm. I had it at the CW 16
party an it was very good.
