Just looking for a little help. I've seen a few ISO: BVDL, with preference to no 2013. What I'm wondering is, was there issues with the 2013? Thanks!

I have preference to no 2012 at this point as I feel like the vanilla has faded on it. The last 2013 I have had was right before DLD last year and it was amazing. 2014 was also really really good right from the gate.

Everyone is going to have different preference to different years.

There were a bunch of reports circulating a few months ago about some infected/off bottles of 2013 BVDL.

A couple months back I took part in a Dark Lord vertical that involved all of the 2013 BA variants. My buddy and I immediately picked up some off flavors of the tarted variety. Not to the point of drain pour, but definitely not up to expectations considering the level they typically trade. The muerte stood out for us as it was pretty good with a little tarted punch to offset the spice.

Two months prior to that, we drank a 2014 BVDL which completely lived up to expectations.

The difference in the 2013 vs. 2014 was definitely not related to adjunct decay. Personally, I would not trade for the 2013. Hope that helps!
