I have two bottles. One with a signature but without a hanging tag, and the other with a hanging tag but no signature. Were there two types in terms of the way the bottles were sold (sig or tag) ? Any clarification would be much appreciated. I'm really just trying to make sure I have the right bottles and have not been jipped. Got them from two different trades. Wax colors are the same by the way (Pink Pearl or whatever it was).

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

The eclipse website may also provide clues - I think the colors change yearly and there was only one PVW variant per year - fantastic beer but a little spendy :grinning:

The website only mentions the wax color, which I am aware of. Other than that there are no other indicators. I'm thinking the signature could be from someone who attended the release party and I suppose sometimes the tags can just be lost or discarded. I just wanted to make sure I have the real deal and am not getting jipped on a trade is all. Perhaps @Tashbrew can chime in.

The timing of the bottle signing, space to get stuff done, and the number of bottles...

There were approxiamately 5000 bottles, I signed about half of them. Most of the bottles I signed got tags. Some bottles I signed were placed into cases and immedately sealed. It was very down to the wire and it got down to the release party and alot jusst didnt get done.

(anecdotal thought) Never say you'll sign 5000 bottles in an 'barely heated' space and no where to get an system up and running that would have prevented this....

Thank you for the reply! I'm going to crack one open soon for my brother's birthday. I suppose we'll drink the unsigned one since they both seem legitimate. That was really my only concern. The signed version came from a trusted trading partner whom I've traded with for almost 10 years. The unsigned bottle came from a new trading partner which was why i was a bit concerned considering how unfamiliar I was with the whole signing process.

In any case, thank you for clearing things up and for the reassurance.

    Cheers.
