2013 narwhal on the shelf. Worth buying?

    Just stumbled upon some 2013 narwhal sitting on a shelf. Wondering how outrunning and if it's worth buying.

    I liked last years quite a bit when I had it, if it was cheap I would pick it up.

    I would buy it as long as it's reasonably priced. I had some 2012 and 2013 over the holidays and they are delicious.

    I'm a big fan of these more bitter stouts (Founders Imperial, Ten Fidy, Narwhal) after a year or more on them. Go for it!

    Would grab that in a heartbeat. Just drank a 13 the other day, tasting fantastic to my palate.

    I think the general consensus is that if you don't like the bitter/burnt flavor then buy it. I had it on tap recently and didn't recall its being as bitter as it was. That burnt/roast flavor will definitely be gone by now in a '13.

    I don't like Narwhal fresh. 1-2 years it's nice but can get a grape flavor from it fresh. Hops and roast can overpower it, it's best with some time.

    as long as it was kept properly in the store. if the store seems a bit hot in temperature in general or if its in direct sunlight, dont buy it.

    I did purchase it and thought it was great. Still had good head retention for the age. I've never had it so have nothing to compare it to. I'm heading back to the liquor store tomorrow and hoping the other dusty four pack is still there!

    I cleaned him out of strawberry rhubarb (6 bottle) a couple months ago and now he argues with me every time I try to buy something with dust on it. He had no idea it was no longer in production and suggested I should've told him when I bought him out. He only found out when he tried to reorder himself. He has no idea what he has. Saw a 12 pack of beer camp a couple weeks ago and if I remember correctly there was a good amount of hoppy beers in that pack.
