I think time tends to make beers like this a bit sweeter, so I would imagine that the brown sugar, molasses, and caramel notes become more pronounced with time.

At least that's what I'm hoping for my second bottle.

I agree this one (and BA Old Raspy) are expensive, but BA Old Stock seems to be worth it (it helps that I found a local store selling it for $18 instead of the $20+ that seems to be more common). I can't say the same for BA Old Rasputin, which has been a boozy mess every time I've had it. The only time I had one of those I enjoyed was after it had been cellared for 2+ years and the booze had mellowed out.

Thanks for the insight. Yes, same for me on BA old raspy. With more than 3 or 4 years, I really put it up there among some of the best BA stouts. It's that good with age on it.

Had the 2011 brandy barrel aged on tap last week. I am so happy I bit the bullet to purchase 1 2013 reserve.

The brandy barrel aged is amazing, but the bourbon does not do the same for me....

Can anyone answer my question of when the 2013 cellar reserve was bottled and released? I picked up a bottle this week and would really like to know.

By my math the base beer is brewed and released early in the year, if the base beer in this is 2013 then this was brewed in early 2013 and then barrel aged 1 yr (standard) for an early 2014 release? meaning now its over a year old in the bottle? the alternative being it spent 2 years in the barrel which means it was released early 2015..... seems not normal for me.....
