The liquor store here had a few 4 packs sitting in the back and just put them on the floor a month ago. Like it was said earlier, though, Bigfoot is still heavily available by the case. In fact its been on sale for about a month and a half

Found about 30 cases 2012 earlier this month in Total Wine Fairfax VA. $7.99 a 4 PK. First time buyer, serious question is that a good price?

It was rather limited in WI last year. I did enjoy a 4 pk and will pick it up again.

Narwhal was an awesome RIS. It was really the only style missing from the regular bottlings from SN. I hope they release it every year. It's of the same quality as the best non barrel aged imperial stouts available. Has a thick texture that nearly every one who release big stouts lack. For me it had the same thickness as 2 of my favorites in Founders IS, and the Stone IRS. It's a superb stout from a legendary brewery

Let me introduce you to my friend the past tense. Managed. One bottle. Last year. Beers released 6 and 2 months ago are still sitting on shelves.

Trademark disputes will become more common with so many breweries and beers it has happened many times before and will get worse latter on I'm sure.

Sierra Nevada Brewing, Narwhal LLC locked in trademark dispute over ‘Narwhal’ name, go their to see the statements from SN and Narwhal brewery. Narwhal brewery which opened this year had been using the name since 2010 they claim, but never applied for a trademark. Sierra Nevada searched for the name narwhal in various places to check for conflict and found nothing and applied for the name june 11th 2012. Narwhal brewery got wind of it and filed sep 25th 2012. Narwhal also lists an RIS of the same name on their website, but I do not know when they first brewed it or anything like that.

As for who contacted whom and what was said isn't known I don't really know what to think. It's pretty easy for narwhal brewery to say SN is the bad guy here and they've done so.

    From narwhal breweries FB page
GOLIATH TRAMPLES DAVID. After weeks of discussion, waiting and weighing of options, we have decided to change our name. We are disappointed SN was unwilling to work something out even after multiple proposals that were very reasonable. Unfortunately, big companies with deep pockets generally get their way. We want to get back to focusing on making beer and getting the brewery open later this year.

We're proud to introduce to you - FINBACK Brewery. Please check it out and like the page, follow us on twitter and we will keep you posted on all the happenings.

Didn't make it's way to my neck of the woods last year...

Hope to see it this year, but if not, I know I can always trust Old Raspy to be around.

I tried BA Narwhal at EBF Night of the Barrels. It was really good. But, I've actually never tried regular Narwhal, so I can't compare them.

Dispute over the "Narwhal" name? A narwahl is a horned whale and I guess he will win any lawsuit given that the name belongs to him/her. That said, this is sweet beer.

Umm...kind of sounds like their fault that they didn't apply for the trademark sooner. And then have the audacity to whine about it. I'm all for the little guys getting fair treatment, but this is pretty much BS on their part in my opinion.

I could be wrong, but I think the distribution routes leave us (in Ithaca) hanging sometimes. It was on tap somewhere in town, I think at NorthStar. I found a 4-pack on a road trip to CT a few months ago... got a bottle for you, if you'd like.

Sorry, but saying you still see Bigfoot and Hoptimum by the case means that you're not solidifying a tense. Let me introduce you to double standards: "managed" followed by "still" means then and now.

Just killed my last bottle, but I will seek it out again...but it was not hard to find for me last year.

And, I had the BA version on tap last year, amazing...

This. Threads like this that pop up every 10 minutes remind me just how well Sierra Nevada has kept up with the exploding craft beer industry. Everything they do is legendary.

Never even saw it here in Phily.

No issue as I just bought a close out case of BCS for $35 and there were at least 4 more. Great beer great price.

    Enjoy

My apologies for using two tenses in one post. I'll try not to use big words either.
