2013 Surly Wet

this news now makes this brew harder to get in TC especially on its initial distro and prolly thereafter

 

I just about liked this just to dislike it. bummer.

 

I live in close proximity to 3 places where Wet sat around for weeks. I'll do my best to drink as much as I can again this year.

 

When should it hit the shelf?

Like a true BA I will report a few of these locals, I also work near a few Surly Honey Holes. Don't want any Wet going bad.

 

Wow. That post is loaded with so many innuendos I'm not sure I'm mature enough to handle it...

 

Hmm I think I'll make a trip up to the Twin Cities around the time this comes out.. time to start planning.. visit college friends, go up to the Surly Tap Room, do a beer run, etc. When should I expect this to be out?

 

If my memory serves me correctly, and judging by a quick fermentation, keeping the hops as fresh as possible, I think Mid-September to Early-October is the scheduling. Even with a smaller batch, just call around to local liquor stores to find it around the release date. I've found it on shelves at least a month after release in the past.

 

When.It's.ready?

 

I loved last year's batch with Simcoe. Easily the best wet hop beer I've ever had.

 

Sounds reasonable. I'm just eyeballing the calendar at this point to get a ballpark on when I should take off for a weekend.

 

When you do, we will have to share some beer!

 

Omar was handing out some cans last year at SurlyFest & I believe it hit stores that following Monday.

 

I heard this beer is so fresh Omar will squeeze a hop cone over your mouth while Todd throat punches you. Although I may be a bit drunk and prone to hyperbole.

 

Per Surly twitter: WET will start rolling into stores & bars on 9/16

 

The hops have already faded on this one. Don't waste your time.

 

I heard it's going to be awful. (more for me) muahahaha

 

They will have faded for me, I'll be in AZ that week oh well have to get me some Four Peaks out there and maybe dig up some Firestone Walker to ease my pains

 

I heard that the hops were harvested 12 minutes after peak time and now this year's Wet sucks horrendously and it cannot compare to all of the hard-to-find awesome IPAs I have... or something like that...
