thats because its fresh, I understand Founders lets it sit in the Barrels for over a year but i do not think it sits that long at the distrbution centers in bottles. This one really needs to be help on too for ateast a month before drinking. I bought two cases and still have not had one knowing it will not be as good as it will be by say Christmas or mid January .

The bottles I picked up are already a month old. Are you saying I need to let it sit another month? I'm not saying beer doesn't change over time, but, honestly, I kinda doubt one month is gonna change this one much. Either folks like it, or they don't.

I have many bottles of beer that i sit on from year to year and some can change majorly overtime. http://www.kegworks.com/blog/beer-cellaring-basics-a-guide-to-aging/

Oh yeah, man, totally. Just more speaking to the idea that, if a touch bourbon-y for folks now, that one single month will mellow it enough. Maybe that'll happen; I just have my doubts.

Not just that, but based on what I'm reading here, our prices seem to be among the highest as well. Odd, since we're just a couple hours from its origin. Granted, I'm sure there are other factors that determine cost besides the distance traveled.

Is it another booze bomb? May buy another 4-pack and see if this needs to sit til next year. Last year's was unabashedly boozy as hell, too. I found Wulver to be much more balanced and smooth than this last year.

I managed to grab the last 4 pack at one store. And to think I didnt even go in for it...but it was sitting so lonely at the back of the shelf so I did the right thing and brought it home.

This is another beer I simply won't refrigerate. This comes out of the cellar, and into the glass. I find that when a beer is particularly boozy, being even remotely cold just exacerbates the situation. I don't refrigerate my bourbon, and generally don't refrigerate my bourbon barrel aged beers.

I read the forums, so I gathered my patience and put away Expedition a year ago, and some FIS last January. No light, no movement, and stable temps. Boxed and covered in towels, no less. The results are extraordinary. Both smooth as silk. This year's Expedition and four Bastards will share space until next Halloween, or so. There is one bottle of BCBS I haven't had the urge to crack yet, so the BB will be the first BA I will try. The BCBS will get another year (I hope).

I still have one 2013 bottle left so I'm not planing on killing myself if I don't get any this first week out.
Last year it was on shelves here in Fla for a while after the initial feeding frenzy was over

Just picked up my "one bottle per customer" allotment at a bottle shop in dear old Cincy. Good enough for me for now, until I stumble upon some tucked away in a store I'm going to anyway.

Don't listen to this guy, @Scottsor your logic is much better. Sure, you're allowed to buy as much as you want. But it's a beer in high demand and it's nice to leave some for others. Unfortunately that may mean someone gets an extra case, but it's a noble thought. It's mostly limited to a single 4-pack around me.
