I personally liked this better as it warmed up after removing from fridge. I have 1 in the cellar. Some people will say don't cellar and drink fresh and others will say cellar one depending on your own personal tastes.

If people would stop going to TW maybe they would all stop doing this shit to customers. Better yet they all go out of business in the RDU area and more legit stores get more of an allotment and then we can actually get some beer in the way it was designed to be sold! Its out there guys, I live in Asheville, but travel a lot to Raleigh and Durham and I have been disappointed just about every time I have gone into the Durham TW. Thus, I vowed never to return.

I rarely ever shop there, only went because I wanted to grab one more bottle to cellar. There are plenty of legit bottle shops in the area that get 90% of my business because I prefer shopping local. In my opinion TW usually has pretty decent prices/selection but I do agree that a one bottle limit at $4.99 is a bit insane.

Why would you say that? It gives more people access to it.

i wouldn't age it, only because the booze perfectly balanced the rest of the flavors and was not overpowering IMO. i tend to age beers that have have a boozy flavor so strong that it overpowers the beer. this is not the case with backwoods bastard, at least to my taste.

I definitely like that it gives more people access to it, that wasn't my issue. I just think charging $4.99/bottle is a little steep when I bought a 4 pack from a local shop for $11.99.

Looks like in Tennessee it's going for a record high price of $19.99 and while i thought that was bad I just saw Founders Harvest Ale for $20.76 for a 4pk! great beers but really, that's a little ridiculous.

THats just wrong, why are your prices so high ?? is everything overprices there or just the founders products?

Picked up two while up in Providence. Popped one last night for the broncos game. Really good BA Wee heavy. The body is a bit thin and I feel like this wouldn't age really well given the body but still a great brew.

Just my opinion but I wouldn't put these in the fridge. It is much better with more character between 53 and 60 degrees..

Despite what's said here, Founders does write on cases for this beer to (1) drink fresh, and (2) keep refrigerated. For what it's worth of course.

Many guys already said this, but I couldnt agree more:
Had one fresh last night and first thought was it was a lil hot, but it just kept getting better as I patiently drank it...Now I need the strength to hide the other 3 in the cellar!
