I didn't think Wulver was near as good as backwoods. I still have 3 wulver left in my fridge to try but given the choice backwoods would be the one I grab. Way more bourbon flavor in the backwoods...

Ahhhhh I love how subjective taste can be (seriously)! I would literally call it the exact opposite, putting Wulver ahead of BB. To each his own!

Backwoods Bastard is gods gift to beer at 11$ a 4 pack. :sunglasses:

I've had 1st and 2nd bottle releases of Wulver - $24/ 4pk. (Not sure of the exact dates but i do believe there were to seperate releases that hit distribution) Wulver #1 was jaw dropping amazing. Release #2 was good but the barrel blend was too hot and did not stand out to me as the first did.

That being said, Backwoods was my first BA love and is one of my favorite beers of all time. But it is not up to snuff with the very first Wulver release.

Lets hope it's not a huge increase in price.. I'll certainly buy less. It's a favorite of mine, however, so I know atleast 4-4packs usually find their way into my house.

Wulver is good as well, I like FBB fresh the best, Wulver is much nicer aged than Backwoods, and.. I have a 2012 BA Big Sound and a 2014 BA Big Sound to compare to them all.

I could do a 4 bottles test, of various vintages as well.

Looking forward to this regardless of price. It's a great beer and we see a good amount of it around here going on past experience.

even though its not seasonal like BB, Pappy Van Muckle from SUNKING is the king of BA Scotch ales! IMO

I'm curious as to how places are getting it, even as far south as SC, when Founders maintains its a Nov 3 release. Us poor saps in ATL still haven't seen Harvest. Does this mean we are behind the curve for BWB too?

    Whoa is me!

Curious about this as well... I'm thinking some distributors and shops are messing up here. Always fun seeing cities halfway across the country get releases before those that live a couple hours from the brewery do. Regardless, I'll be driving out to Founders to get a couple cases at their scheduled release. One of my favorite releases of the year, and some top notch cellar stock.

Honestly, I'm a little sad when I go to the bar and only see like one or two pub only brews. I swear that back in the day, and maybe it's my memory being completely flawed, they had all sorts of crazy shit on tap. I'm hoping that these expansions give them more room to have more one off taps.
