2014 Bourbon County Brands release - Chicagoland

LZ Binnies is dropping the BCS on Saturday. Opens at 9am.

 

I've talked to several beer guys from smaller stores that all said they got a shit-load of regular BCBS. There should be no issue with anyone getting shut out of it if they're around for at least a part of the weekend.

 

I've got a buddy that drives for AB, I have two insights.

First of all, I always thought that "truck chasers" was a euphemism for guys that went from store to store looking for releases. Nope, real thing, they talk to him...he tells them he doesn't have whatever it is they're looking for.

Second, he's out in the far burbs and doesn't have any large stores on his route. He has not delivered a single bottle of BCBS yet, not going to until Friday. Larger stores have it, but we know none of them are gonna let it go today. That jives with what I've been seeing by me, all my mom and pop shops told me that they don't expect to get it until their first delivery on or after Black Friday.

 

Same here, until last year's release.
I met some VERY interesting characters during my Black Friday walk. The word "pathetic" comes to mind. (Says Captain Bourbon County Brussel Sprout.)

 

I find it odd a Binnys would not follow suit for Friday

 

capones is a top tier bottle shop in chicago, they will be getting it, just not in time to do a midnight release

 

Binnys lake view never does it on Black Friday. They'll probably do it next Thursday or something like that. I was bummed last year, the purchase limit was huge and the first few dozen people walked out with two of every 4 pack and bomber, and most people were only able to buy regular BCS.

 

I called Binny's Lakeview and they said they were doing BCS on Black Friday 9am this year. Did you hear differently?

 

Maybe i will be able to get variants this year, then. I plan on getting there earlier than i did last year, so that should help as well.

I got there last year at 7 and ended up being the 13th person in line. They had enough regular and prop, but ran out of everything else at the 12th person. I was the 13th person in line, but really only maybe the 5th customer. First person in line brought the entire extended family to mule for him.

 

The main Binnys Twitter account has stated several times to people that every location is selling BCS Friday when all stores open at 9am.

 

They do it on Saturday every year.

 

Is Berkots lockport releasing bourbon county too or just the one listed?

 

I just called West Lakeview Liquors and they said they aren't getting any BCBS distro until December, nothing for Black Friday.

 

If you're not going there regularly, they aren't gonna let you know when they actually have it.

 

I've talked to 3 local, non-chain shops. The biggest of the 3 said their rep told them it would be delivered on Friday - not there for the open, and no idea what time. The other 2, smaller shops said Tuesday next week at the earliest. Going to be an interesting string of days.
