2014 CBS in NYC?

Can you get growlers to go of these beers? Or is it just pints?

Lol - have you been to a CBS tapping? If beer authority are stupid enough to fill growlers, you'll still probably get ripped apart limb from limb by the crowd

A pint is also optimistic (again if beer authority has any sense) - 6-10oz is more likely

 

There is literally a 0% chance that they'll fill a growler. 0%.

I would be surprised if they poured larger than 8 oz.

 

I have never seen them fill a growler of anything...

Also passing on this. Tap list is very ordinary outside of CBS, which is likely not worth the absurdity.

 

It would be awesome if whatever other bars got kegs of this just put them out randomly without notice for the regulars . . . even if it wasn't one of MY local spots.

That said, any bar who got this would want the packed bar of drinkers buying other beers before/after CBS so I can't blame them.

 

Beer Authority already posted CBS on beermenus, but I called them and confirmed that they are not pouring until 6. 5 oz. pour for $8. Hopefully I can grab a quick pour and race back to Grand Central to catch the 6:28 train. See y'all then. I'll be wearing a Mr. Met baseball cap.

 

Yeah that was pretty insane. they just kept pouring glasses and was kicked in no time. Luckily I got one cause I was there early and didn't realize it was going to be tapped at a certain time, so they recognized me.

 

Upon closer inspection, I'm not wasting my time. I'll just hold out hope that another bar I actually enjoy spending money in nabs a keg. And if not...meh. I'll live.

But please post pictures if you go . Should be an amusing time.

 

Same here, I was on the fence going, but I'm betting on another bar getting some.

 

Rattle n Hum had a keg in 2012 for a Founders event that frankly had an even better tap list. They opened the tap handle and basically never shut it. They were doing 8oz pours but it was gone in about 20 minutes.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the CBS keg served that day was an oxidized, soy sauce mess

Curious about the mayhem, but frankly too tired to bother.

Stopped by but didn't stay, place looked nice and staff were pleasant. Inquired about CBS, was not pouring until exactly 6:00. Seats at bar were already full, likely had to be sitting there to guarantee your 5oz. pour. Remembered I had some Ten Fidy @ home

 

I went to the Rattle event. Skipped out of work around 3:30 and grabbed a seat at the bar. Asked about CBS and they said "Sorry not until 6pm". We can pour the Black Biscuit or any of the Cantillons that are on from last nights event. So we loaded up on St. Lam's and moved on to Founders a couple hours later. CBS, Kaiser Curmudgeon, Black Buscuit...good times

 

5:59pm bar is stacked 4 deep with beards

probably doesnt help that it's near major transit hubs to make it easier for non-area folks to come for the event.
