2014 DC/Metro Sucaba Sightings

lol... oh man the struggle is real around here

 

Bizarre, I don't know what it is about FW, but their barrel-aged stuff seems to have more distribution issues than anything I've ever seen. The last 2 years now up here in Philly, Parabola has come 2 months late, simply because the distributor was holding onto it for no apparent reason. Sucaba is usually not so late, and Anniversary usually shows up on time, so I have no idea what is going on with them, and why the distribution of their beers is so effed up.

 

I got the last bottle of Parabola tonight at 830 as well.

 

None came out to the Shenandoah Valley, had 6-8 cases of 17th that made it out...so I've got zippy so far, hoping a friend in Cali can get me a bottle...

 

TW Sterling got a case today and sold out. Parabola is here though... 3 cases received.

 

Sold out got the last bottle a few hours ago......

 

Norm's is getting Sucaba AND Parabola tomorrow. The early expectation is the line going out the door and down 123 to the beltway by 10:30 AM.

 

Westover Market had one bottle of each this afternoon - $24.99 each. Arrowine is getting both in tomorrow (Friday) -- 12 bottles of Parabola and 6 of Sucaba. Good luck!

 

Normally arrowine gets theirs around noon-1:00 pm.....happy hunting everyone

 

I don't get how parabola has come and gone a long time ago here in MD, yet sucaba is nowhere to be found. Ive asked around a ton at different stores and the people working say they haven't seen anything. Jeez

 

It sounds alot like the scenario 2 years ago with Bourbon county coffee and cherry. The coffee was everywhere but it was nearly impossible to grab/find cherry.

The parabola landed sometime ago, i was out of town for 2 weeks when it happened. So no worries there.

I've rarely seen Abacus/Sucaba bottles. You will have better luck getting it on draft honestly, I seem to find it that way.


Firestone Walker releases are odd here in DC. There is a strange smattering of their beers that dont show up, things like merlin, pivo pils, for regulars and then some occasional special releases with some exceptions.

Really strange. I would think it would often be all or nothing with them in dc but that is not the case from my experience buying their stuffages in these parts.

 

Did you tailgate in the norm's parking lot today for more bottles?

 

Just enjoyed Sucaba on tap at Fireworks (Arlington). They just opened the tap when I got there at 930 so there should be plenty tomorrow.

 

Parabola and Sucaba both came and went at TW Springfield and Fairfax today...$15/bottle. Guess the people without day jobs got it all.

 

Tough spot to be in lol - only way to get these beers to be unemployed.
I wonder if Parabola will trade ok with Sucaba?

 

I decided to swing by TW Springfield this morning since it's on my way to work - they still had a couple bottles of Parabola, but no Sucaba. They mentioned they only received a few Sucaba bottles?

$4$, I think it should trade 1:1? Correct me if I am wrong.

There was Parabola case sitting on the floor at Whole Foods P St. last night with 4 bottles inside (fits 6)... and now they have 0

Maybe another round is coming through the area?
