2014 Firestone Walker Parabola

    I picked up a bottle of Parabola earlier this week and have ordered my second in advance from a bottle shop. As someone who is from Southern California, I'm very surprised to see that my usual go-to shops have not yet received their shipments. Has anyone else run into this problem? I've seen some people in the forums have been lucky enough to buy entire cases from BevMo and other chain stores, but most of these people tend to live farther up the coast than I do. I guess I just want to see what the distribution pattern is like right now.

    Also, later today will be my first time trying Parabola. That said, has anyone opened a bottle of 14 yet? If so, how is this year's vintage in comparison to the previous bottles?

    It reached stores in Santa Barbara last Friday (14th) bought two at Whole Foods, haven't tried it yet, but I have heard this years was very good.

    Well I guess that means that New England beer shops won't be seeing this until June...

    Even the brewery wont have more till the 23rd. Go figure.

    And this year's is very good. Th increase to 14% is not as apparent as one would think. Also a touch more roasty this year.

    Relax, different distributors send it to stores at different times.

    BevMo told me yesterday that their distributor doesn't bring the Parabola until the Sucaba is gone... so buy up, everyone!

    A beer I will have to watch for with diligence - the 2013 was unbelievable - best in the line that I've had - and the the distro out on here on LI was super-limited. Can't wait to get a hold o' this year's. Wish us luck :rolling_eyes:

    We just got Sucaba this week in NJ.

    Can't wait to try Parabola in scorching 95* heat.

    If you're in the Villa Park/Tustin area, there's a place called Hollingshead's off main near the hospital. They're getting a shipment next week, I think. I'll post when I start seeing Parabola in stores.

    Side note: I just bought two bottles of Sucaba from a liquor store in my hometown. Can't wait to open one!

    Just tried Paraloba for the first time. It's a great beer for sure. That being said, I have 2, maybe 3 bottles up for trade.
