So I just popped open a bottle of 2014 Sofie (765, not 12oz), and it was insanely carbonated to the point where i lost around a quarter of the bottle all over my table. Theories as to why this happened? I understand this is a 'live' beer, but I can't imagine this is happening to every single bottle of sofie.

It still tastes great and I'm not that mad as it could've gotten all over my computer, but it totally took me by surprise.

I've had this with some wild beers. Depends on the bottling or the type of wild yeast used it could have kept carbonating it (this I find most common with smaller breweries that don't bottle much and when I used to bottle my homebrew vs kegging). So my wild beers I get good and cold before opening in case  then open and let warm in the glass.

I unfortunately have no exp with this beer in particular (wish I did).

Since this is a nationally distributed beer you may get more responses in the general beer talk section than a regional forum.
