No idea why you would think that, bombers are almost always overpriced, not to mention it can be hard drinking that man ozs of a barrel aged stout all by yourself in one sitting.

No one seems to have issues with BCBS in bombers. Would even be better if they did a KBS variant.

As for pricing, I agree with most breweries charging ridiculous amounts for bombers. Founders, on the other hand, seems to remain fairly priced in the category. I mean, ~$12 for Doom? Pretty inexpensive for a barrel aged DIPA.

How do you figure? Odd sides barrel aged citra was 2.50 per 12oz bottle, and a lot more enjoyable then doom imo. Plus their 750s like boltcutter and sweet repute seem very high in price. Their 12oz bottles are very cheap though.

I mean, I've always operated under the assumption that craft brewers aren't just charging X price for Y beer. They probably have a margin range that they look to accomplish on all of their products which is reflected and combined with the COGS and what distributors and retailers are taking.

I've found that Founders typically has reasonable pricing for their bombers compared to other companies. I mean, you're normally spending $14 or so on a seasonal from New Belgium when you can get BBA DIPA's and one-offs for sub-$15 from Founders. Sure, Bolt Cutter and Sweet Repute were pricier but that largely reflects the extended aging time and cost of that malt bill.

In terms of bombers of KBS, you're right though, it'd have to be a pretty inexpensive to make it worth it. I mean in the $10-$14 range as bottles, if I remember correctly, are usually $5-$8. Would love to see them do something new and pop out Devil's Cut in a bomber.
