Just a couple today in sunny Bingham. First was a pint of Mild Mannered Monkey (Blue Monkey Brewery) , a nice 5% brew, at the Chesterfield Arms. Then we went just across the road to the Wetherspoons pub, the Buttercross , for some excellent Rutland Panther from the Grainstore Brewery at Oakham. Lovely stuff and always worth a detour.

Landlord plus caramel. You've ruined my day. I'll look out for that when I come home.

Had some today, same place.Being at a mini festival the casks were racked in the pub with cooling tubes entering the shive which means that a spile couldn't be used. So after a couple of days the beer came with no head whatsoever. This of course meant a full pint but the beer was simply drop dead gorgeous. It had put on weight and developed beautifully since Saturday.

Disappointingly, I didn't find anywhere else in San Diego celebrating Mild Month. Really poor show. It's almost like no-one cares about Mild there.

Imagine what it's like for me. I grew up around there and I'm a Mild obsessive.

Yes. Now we're back to only a handful of pubs which always serve a mild. But I know where they are.................

I regret to say I only had one pint of mild in May itself. It was Hook Norton Special Dark Mild. I did have a pint of Timothy Taylor's Golden Best last night though.

I managed to drink mild in over 20 pubs in the Vale of Belvoir though the last one I didn't get to until June 1st.Also had a pint of Bateman's Black and White in a 'Spoons pub in Nottingham (handy place to fill in time when waiting for the bus!)

I am trying to convince my local pub here in Chicago to participate in this great tradition this year. they have 32 taps, i hope he spares 1 or 2 for milds this spring.

Depends where you'll be. Many pubs keep "Mild in Ma"y going into early June and of course there will still be pubs who haven't sold all their mild by the end of the month.Conversely, some pubs who only sell mild in May might have already sold out by the 31st.

I know Harvey's keep their dark mild on for a while throughout the year, hopefully they'll have some Knots of May left too. Love both of those.

Watch out when you touch down on this island. Between the culture, my wife and the beer I never returned to the frozen tundra of Canada.
