For those still on the hunt, Joy has roughly 20 bottles of BCBS and two BC Barleywine left (or they did as of about 20 minutes ago).

Interesting, since the beer guy at Mondo Vino told me last week they wouldn't be getting any and then starting going off on how they screwed every year because they don't sell enough Bud Light.

I mean a lot of us ended up waiting from the wee hours (as early as 1:30 am) at argo and weren't able to purchase an entire allocation.

Has anyone had Rare this year and can comment on it?

Related: any tappings of Rare or other variants in Denver this weekend?

I was at the Cheeky Monk's 2PM tapping and they opened 2 bottles of rare and gave away 1 ounce pours to as many people as they could. It was excellent. Very smooth up front followed by an almost marshmallow like sweetness and finish. Worth $60 a bottle? Maybe not, but definitely a noticeable cut above the regular.

Posts like this are why I love this site. It was really cold out last night and this morning, why on earth would you stand outside all night to buy beer? El oh el, you people are something else.

Right, @profbobo sorry your priorities are so clearly out of wack. I headed out at 12 pm hunting today and got home around 5 with a half case of Rare and 12 bottles of Coffee and Barleywine from a few LLS only 2 miles from my house.

So is the coffee all gone? I was able to buy regular but got shut out everywhere on coffee.

This is the one real indulgence I've allowed myself all year besides easy pick ups and phone orders. Priorities out of whack or not doesn't really excuse having a huge allocation and holding stuff back IMO. And going early let me sneak out while my son was asleep and spend the rest of the day with him. So you can say my priorities are out of whack, but this let me do my beer hunting and still spend time with my family.

Can't wait till next year's BCBS Chelada Rye! Heard that every store will get at least 1 bottle, so we can all camp out overnight in anticipation of the potential of maybe buying one!

To be honest man, my journey today wasn't as bad as it may sound. Without going in a huge rant about my day I'll try to tell in a nutshell... I live 2 blocks from Argo, got in line at 530ish and was 15th in line. I got a heads up on what to expect from one of the main beer guys and the general manager that work there. Got my allotment and the freebies. Had a bunch of time to kill before Mr. B's and got in line there a couple hours early. Got my full allotment there as well and went straight to Cheeky Monk for a great tapping of all the variants except for Rare. However, The GI reps at the Monk gave out free pours of Rare from the bottle. Amazing laid back vibe and they still had everything on tap when my crew and I left around 6:00.

Side Note: met some awesome Denver/Colorado folk today on my journeys. Shared stores and beers with many people and this was a great first Black Friday out in Denver for me. Hope everyone else had a great day as well.

Today went pretty smoothly. Hit up Argonaut, Highlands Wine, and Mr. B's. Got pretty much everything I wanted. Would have liked to grab a few more Ryes but I'm sure I can track some down.

Nice meeting you at Mr. B's, Jake. Go Bears!

Goose Island is a hype machine. They need to change the name of "Rare" to "Fairly Common" and of "Regal Rye" to "Annoyingly Rare"...

Same boat. Noon was too late for coffee at the places we got to.
Got regular and rye, turned down. I was going to skip Rare, but I may divert my Coffee $ allocation to it since it looks like coffee is a no-go
