Anyone know whats up with this year's version? I just bought one but no new reviews yet on here so i surprised myself. It pours out pretty black with not a whole lot of flavor, not a stout, certainly not a traditional barleywine, no details on their website. Close to a drain pour but maybe i can get through it...
I was told at a sampling that it was an Oatmeal stout despite it being labeled as a barleywine on the bottle. Didn't think it was bad either, maybe a little sweet but I can abide that for a holiday beer.
I bought one and was excited about it. I was interested in the color as well. It was mediocre, unfortunately. Glad I didn't buy two (I was going to).
