    All,

I purchased 4 bottles of the 2015 Bourbon County Stout 2015 rare back in 2017 at a local chain. I opened one but it was a bit strong for my simple pallet so I put the others aside in my basement figuring they would mellow out. It wasn’t until today when I was cleaning up the basement that I realized they were still there. Can anyone weigh in on the odds that they’re still ok to drink? I would assume that they would best consumed when put up for sale but I don’t have much experience here. The reason I ask and don’t just open to find out is I wanted to gift some to a few colleagues at work.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

They will be fine, and im sure if you got into trading, some folks on here would surely be interested.

They will be fine and it would be interesting for us (and maybe you) if you let us know your opinion a couple years later. Did the flavor mellow? Did some flavors fade and others not? It's definitely still good, but we love to know... Good, how?

They will be fine, I have had recently the regular 2013,2014 bourbon county and it was fine. Your lucky to be able to just walk into a store and buy rare. Rare is exactly what it means in these parts.

They will be great! 3 years takes some of the bite out of them and they taste smoother.

The beers will be bad and need to be disposed of properly. PM me for my address and you can send them to me, I will take care of their disposal

Some friends and I did a vertical a month or two ago at a bottle share and they aged really well. 2016 was my favorite. If I remember correctly 2015 had a couple recalls and then some people were saying they got infected bottles that were supposed to be good so keep that in mind if you get a dud.

    What you said.
Btw, I had a 2017, 13.7% bottle in November, that had a twinge of sourness. Weird.
