If reg BCBS is $15-20 per bottle I will...

  1. Buy fewer bottles than what I really want

    62.8%
  2. Buy about 3-5 bottles and call it a day

    24.1%
  3. Buy as many bottles I can find still. Price is no object.

    13.1%

40-50%? You must be at the wrong places. I paid $10 each for a regular and BW. No coffee was received. A bit steep based on last years 4 packs but it's once a year so I'm ok and will enjoy this with others, 4-5 oz is fine with me.

I get Pa is more expensive than other places but not 40%+ unless you are going to a bottle shop like Capones.

    Enjoy

Saw it at one store in SoCal, not really looking, just happened to stop in, $15.99 per 16.9 ounce bottle no limit. The clerk told me he went through almost 7 cases this morning, had four bottles left.

Albany, NY. Local bottle shop allowed 6 regular bottles at $55.95. Just opened one, tastes absolutely fantastic!

Two of the stores I went to were $9.99 for regular. One unnamed store was selling regular for $17.99 a bottle which I will not longer buy anything from them.

Chicago burbs had a huge range. $10 at binnys, $13-15 everywhere at smaller stores, with one place at $25... Everywhere was 1 or 2 bottle limit, and variants were in very short supply this year.

Paid $11 for 4 regular and I think $12.50 for the 2 barleywine, no other variants at the store I went to this AM. They had 4 packs of both from 2014 as well for I think $22 and $25 respectively, which I passed on since people were literally tearing the boxes apart to get to it anyway.

Next year I will probably only buy one or two bottles, and I would prefer to try the variants I think. I sort of stumbled on this release and basically bought at the limit since I was there, I'll probably give a couple bottles as gifts though.

Going to pass this year. Still have 2014 bcbs, bcbw, and 1 coffee. $10-12 for a 16oz is ABInBev of screwing with us. Spent my money on on Founder BS and Bells Java instead. Picked up Backwoods last week so Im good.

10.99 per for regular in Burlington, Vermont. Had the first pour off the keg at the Whiskey Room on Church St at noon. Bummed Vermont continually gets dissed for variants (going on three straight years now) but I fucking love this beer and I don't care who the parent company is.

Went to a shop in SF 'Ales Unlimited' for the LAST time. They already mark their stuff way up, 140% higher than everyone else in the area. They sold a bunch of BCBS and varients at midnight Thursday night, including the Rare, Coffee and Barley Wine. No issue with that. Then today they were requiring people to buy a different GI bomber in order to buy one of the remaining coffee or bw's! Marked up more, ok that's one thing, but holding the others hostage for another $28 bottle that I don't even want... Just not cool on principal. I guess it may have been different had I actually wanted one of those other bottles. But, I didn't. So I voiced my displeasure, and left.

On another note - I got an entire case of BCBS at Safeway in Berkeley on Thanksgiving. It was $10.99ea regular, but $9.00ea if you bought 6 or more.

and yet some still argue over whether they are overpriced or not, relative to demand.:rolling_eyes:

I think this is only the third year now for NM.

2013 saw BCBS at around $22/four pack and BCBCS/BW at around $6/bottle with overall bottle limits around 12-14 12 oz. bottles at the main place in town, and unlimited at others.

2014 saw only BCBS at around $25/four pack with a 8 bottle limit at every place I visisted

2015 saw BCBS at $10-$11/500ml bottle, with 1-2 bottle limits. BW was $11, and Rye at $20.

Quantities this year seem to show about 2 cases of BW, 2 cases of Rye, and at least 10 cases of BCBS for the main place in town. Other outlets have only BCBS in the 8-10 case range.

What used to cost about $0.46 cents an ounce in 2013 is now at $0.65 cents an ounce. What used to be available ounces to purchase in the 100 range, is now cut off around 50. We are nearly paying 1/3rd more for half of what we would normally get.

    Its great beer though.

I'm in MontCo and usually hit the Beer Store and/or Iron Abbey. Haven't lived here too long. Where should I be going?

I am familiar with Gambrinus and John (the owner) is a true beer geek. He has a great collection for the area. I can go crazy in his cave on the stouts he manages to find.

    Got mine today.

    Reg - $11.99

    Coffee - $13.99

    BW - $13.99

    Regal Rye - $25.99

I had Rare set aside as well, however: I declined to purchase, it was $79.99. Too rich for my blood! Left it for someone else. Also the variants were expensive. But, I was happy with what I got. Didn't have to stand in line

"We have also a list of people willing to pay more than $60.00" . What a douche bag that guy is. Why not just auction it off? Solid way to piss off your frequent patrons.
