If reg BCBS is $15-20 per bottle I will...

  1. Buy fewer bottles than what I really want

    62.8%
  2. Buy about 3-5 bottles and call it a day

    24.1%
  3. Buy as many bottles I can find still. Price is no object.

    13.1%

Is this in NJ and if so, would you mind disclosing if it's North/South/Central? Not asking for store name.

Have you had the BA GBS? I haven't but would like to try it. You think if I go down Sunday to Hardywood they'll have any left?

    Haha. That explains it. Thanks.

I doesn't really explain it. Most places around Cambridge and Boston are charging $12 a bottle at least if they even have it. And usually there are strict bottle limits.

The base beer was brewed in 2008, sold in 2010 after aging for two years. So technically being sold it would be 5 years.

I have had it and it's very tasty. By all accounts, most of their releases have allowed for units available in Sunday, plus it should see distro.

I picked one up in Anaheim for $11.99. I would have bought one or two more at that price if they had it. I have found it up the coast in a few shops from Carp to Goleta ranging from $20-27 per bottle for regular. Pass...

I don't understand why people say stuff like that. I've been a fan of Goose Island for a long time, I've drunk plenty of their pre and post acquisition beer and have not seen any drop off in quality. None.

Just saw a bunch in a store here today in Chicago. I was really excited. Picked up a couple of Rye, one Coffee and one Regular.

Got to counter. Saw it ring up as $39.99 (Coffee), $79.99, $79.99 (Ryes) and $39.99 (Regular). I asked the lady, "What did I just get?". Double checked the labels thinking one may have been somehow Rare out of the box.

I looked at her and said, "I can't pay that, sorry." I have the means, but I'm not stupid.

    Promptly reported them to GI.

I'm a fan of Ten Hill and Autumn Ale for 12 bucks a 12 pack. Would I pay 10 bucks a 6-pack, no way but for a buck or 2 over Bud its a great deal. It's currently my go to since Goose Island beers are all I can afford after buying BCBS variants. Oh the Irony of it all.....

They were 8.99 in my area, 10.99 at one place. Seems like most of the gas stations and grocery stores got some in where I'm located. All regular stout.

I wasn't sure if this is a good deal, so it forced me to do some research and math:
    *1/6 barrel (20 Ltr) = 5.2 gallons = 41 pints = 55 12oz bottles (Sixtel)
...yeah - at $6.34/pint that 's a good deal, as long as none of it goes to waste. That's such a good deal I would want to cook/bake with some: BCBS Brownies, BCBS Stew, hmmm....

My local supermarket was trying to charge $14.99 a bottle for regular.

They received 4 cases from the distributor, and it looks like they still have those same four cases left, aging in the sunlight.

    Doesn't pay to be greedy.

I bought a case for $9 a bottle and spread it amongst my friends. Haven't seen a better price, at least a case price, anywhere in the Chicago area.

I did find a liquor store with Barleywine $13.99, Coffee $13.99 and Rare $79.99 today.
I picked up a few coffee, but no way I'm paying that Rare price if I don't have a 6-figure income.

Initially I bought a case in Jersey for $144... now most of the places that still have BCBS around me are charging $20/bottle. An absolute fucking gouge.
