On draft at One Eyed Betty's right meow. Delicious follow up to a CBS (cashed).

So found out yesterday that locally in southwest Ohio we won't get it until 2nd week in February. That is a month from when it was bottled. Better Drink it ASAP once it hits the shelves or it will be too sweet.

Curious if anyone from Missouri has seen this yet. Bell's blog indicated they and Michigan would be receiving it this week (1/12).

I've had more than my fair share of this beer over the last few years, and I just had my first bottle from my most recently purchased 6 pack an hour ago. Here is the thing: bottles of this beer just cannot compete with it fresh on tap. Specifically, I have never had the wonderful aroma from a bottle that I get from it on tap (when fresh, etc.).

Why is this? I have had many of the other "top" IPAs and DIPAs (bottled and canned), and they do have a wonderful, hoppy aroma that nobody can miss. Don't get me wrong, this beer smells fine, but there just is no comparison to the aroma it has fresh on tap.

As is your Hopslam :stuck_out_tongue: Our locations surely have nothing to do with that.

Yeah...I don't see an issue with the price at all. You can't walk into most places these days and get a bottle of macro for under $3. If you do...it's not much below $3...even on special. So if anyone has issues with paying $3 for a Hop Slam...I don't know what to say. Perhaps craft beer isn't for them.

Here's to hoping that '15 Hopslam is like the '11.

I happily pay about the same year round for Double Jack (when fresh :slight_frown: ) and a little more for Enjoy By when available. Happily pay the same for Green Flash's seasonals too. I don't think anyone is arguing that there are a few cheaper IIPAs than Hopslam, but to call it straight up overpriced is nonsense to me. Cheers!

I just had Hopslam on Saturday on-tap.

I loved it. Not as blown away as the very first time I tried it, but better than I thought it was last year when I had a bottle (albeit it an "old" one) and also on-tap.

I still don't think any beer is worth driving all around for or paying excessively for to get my hands on, but man was it tasty! Not the best DIPA I've had, even though I thought it was when I first had it a couple years ago, but it's still exceptional.

(I think the first time I had Hopslam I scored it something like a 4.7. After last year, 4.2, and then after Saturday, a 4.5.)

I live in St. Louis. Friar Tucks is suppose to get 20 cases this Wednesday January 21st. Limit one six pack per customer and they expect to sell out on the first day.

I've tried a couple places around Grand Rapids today, but have come up empty handed. One of my normal stops in Grandville said that they were expecting a shipment tomorrow, though.

Check Meijers - my local one had a fairly decent supply earlier when I grabbed a sixer.

I went to one of my local Meijer's on Friday night and bought two sixers. When I left there were still at least 10+ cases sitting on the shelf. I went back there yesterday for some groceries and they had completely sold out of Hopslam and replaced the entire display with All Day IPA and various other beers. That was shocking to see for me, glad I got my packs when I did!

I may skip it this year. I love it, but it's a pricey six pack.

I feel like I'm one of the few, but I prefer the "sweetness" when it comes to IPA's. Am I crazy? The two draft pours I had over the weekend of Hopslam were very hoppy to say the least. Yet last year's, I could taste more of the honey. Palate has most likely changed since then, but still.

I think I'm going to let one of my sixers sit for a month before devouring them. Big fan of Mars, too.

For those of you passing, I guess it doesn't have enough "rareness" for you. The fact that Hopslam had huge product is outstanding, no need to stress hunting it done, which I won't do anymore.

Additionally are we really going to get in a pricing argument. Think of what Hopslam would cost in bumper form, twice as much and still worth every penny.

Bottom line, I'm thankful Bell's produces a huge amount, widely distributes it, keeps it in 6-pack format and doesn't kill you on price! Bring on Hopslam!!!
