2015 Hopslam

i think they had gone through about ten cases already by the time i got there. i grabbed a couple sixers and drinkin one now. damn tasty as usual.

 

Stopped at 12 stores today and found nothing. Everyone is picked clean

don't want to see the sh!tshow that will be greater Chicagoland when this hits

 

Ha. If it's bad in Michigan it's gonna be spicy embarrassing when it hits here

 

Okay, it was worth the hunt. Maybe not worth standing in line...

 

Landed at Plum in Ann Arbor as well - swooped up a sixer a couple hours ago.

 

Landed at Kalamazoo Costco today as well...appeared to be about 9 cases, 1 sixer per person at $15/sixer

 

It hit some places in Mid-MI yesterday...

 

Always cracks me up when someone calls a huge DIPA "balanced."

 

I was slightly underwhelmed by last year's batch but I just drank a 1/8/15 bottle and damn, it's freakin' fantastic.

Noticeably more hop-forward than last year.

 

I know, a group of us are having a huge laugh about it. So funny.

 

I think it's reasonable to call it balanced for a DIPA. Some are aggressively hop-forward. Hopslam is only 70 IBU's and has a lot of sweetness. So compared to something like Hop Stoopid, it is balanced.

 

I actually picked up on that too, and I'm not as impressed as I have been in years past. These are the freshest bottles I've ever had, so maybe I just need to let them chill out for a week or two. I actually prefer it a little less hoppy and a little sweeter. Maybe it's just my palate. Who knows?

 

yeah, i'm lost here, why would it be laughable for a double ipa to have a balanced flavor if done proportionally?

 

I was being 100% sarcastic. sbxx is just bad at trolling.

 

Was able to finally get one six pack after going to about 6 stores and all being sold out. Crazy. Hoping there continue to be shipments and the craziness calms down.

Oh and I drank one last night and it was fan-freaking-tastic.

 

There is going to be waves of it so the craziness should calm down. Place by me has it for $22 a 6 pack, I am going to just find it elsewhere for cheaper.

 

I paid $17.99 I think.

 

Love the reviews so far. I will let you know how I think it is in 2 weeks when IL gets it.

 

That is what I would expect to pay and will pay, I am just not willing to pay $5 more per 6 pack for Hopslam, Black Note maybe.
