2015 Hopslam

I have not had this years Hopslam on bottles, but I've had it on tap at Bells on Sunday and at Hopcat yesterday. It is the weirdest thing because at Bells, I would describe it how you guys said it was, with a little thinner and lacking the aromas and full hop flavor that it usually packs, but yesterday at Hopcat it tasted as amazing as always. Not sure why, or how, or what not, but there was a noticable difference. Ill have to try a bottle when they arrive here in Chicago next week.

 

Thanks for the heads up! A friend and I were able to snag a couple six packs last night. I had never been to this Meijer before, but they had a better beer selection than many liquor stores. I also picked up Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine and thought about getting several others.

 

The bottles are killer!!

 

The Cascade Meijer is a "flagship" store in the region so they invest quite a bit into that location. It seems funny to say but they are definitely one of my go-to stores in the area.

Pretty sure it was there and gone at Horrock's in Lansing, as there were only about two cases left as of 5:00pm today. Tasting pretty damn good, just not as great as I remember it (the beer that really got me started into craft beer).

 

Only place I've seen it was $22....passed.

 

word is some more cases could be rolling through the east side tomorrow. if anyone sees anything, please post here.

I was gonna ask, as of today (Wed) is there any on the east side in any significant quantity? Meier or any other larger stores? Is there anywhere I can grab a couple sixers after work today without driving all over looking? If anyone knows anything, let us know, thanks!

So BG Binny's just tweeted that Hopslam will drop on 2/5/15 with a 1 six pk limit. This ought to be fun...

Interesting... heard this from a couple of you. My experience was the exact opposite. I had a couple pours yesterday from a very fresh keg and was blown away by the draft version. I could smell the beer the second the waiter set it on the table. Opened a bottle today, and while I thought it was slightly inferior to the draft version, it was by no means drastically different. They're very similar, but draft was slightly better for me.

From my review: "I do slightly prefer this more on draft, as those pours were a bit more aromatic for me, the flavors popped just a touch more, and the mouthfeel was a bit more creamy and smooth. "

 

The cascade Meijer had a full pallet out today

 

It was one case last year, and I highly doubt he's getting any less.

Then again, he's the same guy who puts Limit 1 on frickin' Dreadnaught.
