Yeah was just about to chime in with this price-per-ounce notion. This beer is probably not as expensive as other things you normally buy in bombers. Maybe email Bells and ask them for a $12.99 bomber instead if you think that would be more reasonable.

Pretty sure I've got a 2014 I would send to someone who would want it. All I would ask for is a shipping label.....BM to discuss :-)

    from the horse's mouth:

Q: Can I save or cellar this beer for later/when a friend from out of town visits/other special occasion?

A: There are some beers that we brew that are meant to be cellared, Expedition Stout and Third Coast Old Ale for instance. Hopslam is not one of those.

Hopslam is meant to be enjoyed as fresh as possible. Please drink it.

Another excerpt from the post on Bellsbeer.com:

Q: Can I buy a keg for my home bar/kegerator?

A: (Again) Sorry, no. As in past years, all kegs are reserved for bars and restaurants. We want to be able to spread as much of this beer to as many people as possible.

When did this start? I very vividly remember going to a buddies Hopslam kegger at WMU back in the day (2009 or 2010?). It makes me sad that other dumb college kids can't do the dumb things that I did.

The comments about the beer already being too old/a drainpour are freaking hilarious. Every IPA release. Every year.

    Classic.

This and "send it my way so I can dispose of it for you" jokes are sooooo tired. It's like "Why did the chicken cross the road?" or some hackneyed Orange you glad I didn't say Banana Knock Knock joke.

i aged a few on accident. they were well hidden in the back of the fridge and they were a year old. i drank them. they were good. sweet like honey. no hops of course and definitely NOT a drain pour.

I've aged some stuff that wasn't suppose to be aged but i did it on my own will. for fun and part of the hobby. or when someone posts a thread asking if they should drink their one year old hopslam, i'll always say YES.

Wish Bell's would have linked the distributors for each state. California gets it about a week earlier than IL and 2 weeks earlier than IN, and we're neighboring states? Lazy ass distributors . Should just save them the trouble and have the Mizzou folks drop it off on the way through.

Yeah, it never makes sense. For some in-state brewers (cough Founder's), large parts of Michigan will often be among the last in the country to get certain beers.
