I just acquired these in trade. Should I put these in the cellar for 6-12 months or drink them this fall?

Drink them this fall. Unless you are just not a fan of those styles, you will be glad you did.

These two products do not age particular well. Especially after 2 years. Certainly will not get better. Drink them this Fall.

Agree with above posts - hang onto them for the fall and you won't regret it. Mine typically don't last a year in my cellar because I'm too tempted to drink them during football Sundays with friends

Drink the Parabola, age the Sucaba. That's what I am doing. The Sucabas I've had have been way too boozy for my taste. DDBA 14 on the other hand is really pleasant right now. I had one last night.

Parabola and Stickee seem to be the most ready to drink right away IMO.

You can't go wrong either way, but there's no way that I could resist them as the weather cools off this fall.

Been acquiring and aging FW barrel ales for a while now and have been disappointed with everyone one of them with any more than 2 years on it, frankly even at 2 years its just going downhill. 16 is the only one that improved, but it wasn't great fresh. They are so well balanced out the gate really no reason to cellar them, from my experience.

Personally, I think Sucaba ages better than Parabola but that is personal preference and partly due to the style. I recently had a 2012 Sucaba that was wonderful. The 2011 Parabola that I opened a few months prior was good but seemed to lack that Wow that it has when fresher. I wouldn't hesitate to put 6-12 months on Parabola but plan on aging all of my Sucaba bottles at least 2 years before cracking them.

I've had both fresh (tap and bottle) and both are well made. If you've never had them, drink them in the fall. If you're so inclined and want a nice Barleywine to age, hunt down another Sucaba and forget you have it for a couple of years.

Barleywines tend to age out nicely, developing fruit and sherry-like notes. Most of the Stouts that I've aged a bit too long end up tasting metallic or just off, due to oxidation. Again, personal preference but malty, English-style Barleywines show more improvement with slow oxidation than some other styles.

2013 Sucuba is drinking better than the whale King Henry. Had a barleywine tasting last month and Sucuba 13 was the clear winner. Obtained a vertical of the Abacus/Sucaba going up to the latest release. We're going to crack them open this Fall and I can report back.

Parabola like everyone else is saying is ready to drink when you purchase it. I drank a 13' two months ago because a few ppl were saying it was getting a green pepper taste. Did get that at all. Tasted great to me.

We opened my complete vertical a few months ago. I don't think aging did anything good or bad to it. All of them tasted quite similar.
