No word on beer but this is definitely my favorite of the Michigan beer festivals. Such a beautiful park and so few people. I remember getting pours of kbs with no line. Nothing like summer fest.
I went to this festival the first 2 years (I was in attending NMU) it was held and it was amazing. No waiting in line for anything really. Great lineup brewer-wise and a beautiful view of Lake Superior. If it wasn't a 6 hour drive for me to get there, I would absolutely go again.

Two years ago was by far the worst, since there were 30 minute waits for the bathrooms and the music was so loud that you couldn't have a conversation on the other side of the park. Fortunately they fixed both of those things last year. I don't know what they're capping attendance at this year, but I think last year stressed the limits of what Mattson Park can handle.
Last year was my first time there, and I felt that the capacity crowd (3,500?) did max out the space. I pushed thru people standing around and waited in lines to try to get anything that was a hyped beer. But I'm going back again. See you next week.
