Sorry if there is already a thread about the release - havent stayed up as much as i used to on the NW forum since moving to Cali (or any forums for that matter)...and yes - i did try seach and i probably just didnt do it right...anyways, is anyone going to be in Astoria for the release of this years 3Way? i won't be attending the release party but will be in astoria at some point this weekend and hoping to grab some on tap...very excited as Barley Browns is one of my favorites and the only beer ive had from Melvin (2x4) was amazing. if anyone is around astoria (or seaside: where i will be staying) and wants to grab a beer let me know.

    hope everyone is good!

I had one of the Beta test batches during Seattle Beer Week. Really good. Better than 2015 but still not as good as 2014.

2014 is a high bar and 2 years of nostalgia make it even tougher to match

+1 to this. After the disappointment of the 2015 (at least for me), I was very impressed with the beta batch I sampled. Good as 2014? That's a pretty high bar... But I did think it was very, very good.

I never had the 2014, and I liked the 2015. Expectations are high now.

That June 13th date is likely for cans in distribution. Fort George canned yesterday, and a VIP happened to arrive in Bend today with some (shhhh!), so wouldn't be surprised if you were able to buy it at the brewery.

You probably already know this, but the taproom usually has the better offerings at the brewery, so be sure to stop in there. In all likelihood you'll be able to try the beta versions of this year's 3-Way as well. Good to see you round these parts, have fun. Fort George is a blast!

Have been able to try it a few times- got it from a friend who's a brewer the day after it was canned (LAST Friday!!!), and then again on draft last night (the local growler guys was the first place anywhere to tap a keg. Head Brewer Chris Nemlowill mentioned that it "doesn't really taste like a Fort George beer", and I have to agree. He said it's more like a Barley Brown typical offering. I'm not one for lengthy eloquent reviews, but I can say it's really well done. Easy drinking, but with an intense lingering bitterness. Not as tropical/citrus as Pallet Jack, but is just in the middle of citrus/dank. Really good stuff.

(ALSO- Chris said it was the first time he had it on draft last night!)

(ALSO ALSO- it will for sure be on tap and in cans to go in the brewery tonight)

Isn't that the menu in the taproom?

Looks like the wife and I have talked ourselves into a day trip to Astoria tomorrow. Might be nice to do a side-by-side-by-side-by-side of 3-Way and the 3 Betas.

Roll your eyes all you want (I wasn't trying to be a dick) but the tap lists are separate. If someone who has never visited walks into the pub or goes upstairs looking for those beers, that isn't the taplist they're going to find.

Would be even nicer if the wife and you both did this side-by-side. You could call it a 2-Way 3-Way 4-Way, if anyone asked.

Went on Saturday - they ran out of Suicide Squeeze but was able to do beta 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4 and 3 Way plus picked up some cans of 3 Way for the road. Wish I could get there more often...
