Which Jewel's are selling on Friday?!

 

@Jplachy posted a link midway through the previous page. It doesn't list all the Jewels that are selling, but it lists some ones that will be their "event" stores.

 

The other thing about Jewel is that if you get screwed, you're probably too late to get a full allotment at any suburban Binny's...

By the same logic you should only go to LP Binnys because what if you get screwed at BurbieBinny's, by then it'll be too late to get a full allotment at LP.

 

Before Jewel entered the mix and ruined the minds of half the people in this thread, wasn't that basically the consensus? Go to LP because you're almost guaranteed what you want (well, non-vintage, I mean)?

I think that's the conclusion I just reached. It's more of a hassle for me, but I'll be happy with a full allotment and vintage BCBS. If I sacrifice several hours of sleep for just BCBS and BW, I'm going to feel like a jackass.

Last year once the line formed they did have some doughnuts I believe? Also the coffee in the BCBS coffee was there to sample. I still remember thinking how good that BCBSC was going to be....

 

i think those were served in the morning on release day. Maybe 6am?

I think that is why I am going to hold firm on LP....because of the opportunity to grab some vintage bottle(s). I have Rare so am not concerned about nabbing another one at this point.

I called the jewel by my parents in the southwest suburbs and the guy seemed very unsure and just kept repeating everything I asked. he said "probably" only the original will be sold.

 

That means that the BCBS public release event has actually turned into a Jewel employee appreciation day event...

 

Needing to warm up in one's car? C'mon, has this new generation of line-goers gone soft? Implying that everyone else is doing it or as someone else stated, that no one else cares is simply not true but I understand the rationalization. Cheers from the thread's curmudgeon.

 

Anyone know what time the line starts at the Bucktown Walgreens?
