I got there around 1 am last year and there was no parking nearby (street / lot). You'll have to find parking on a street further away and walk or take an Uber. By 6 am, parking right nearby is likely impossible.

Last year was also shitty cold rainstorm for hours on end. Just to keep perspective.

I've only driven once, but were I to do it again, I'd probably park on a residential side street (I think Lincoln Park is permit-free until 6pm, although I don't remember what time it goes into effect in the morning) and walk a few blocks. There might be some pay-to-park spots open on Clybourn, but I assume that with all the Black Friday shopping + BCS, there won't be much right near Binny's.

I'll take my chances. If I get shutout, I get shutout. I'm not doing crazy lines anymore.

It's gonna give me a buzz, and I'm gonna piss it out. Plus, I'm sure I'll be able to find some on draft.

It shouldn't be too bad, let's not forget one half of the country (not sure which one yet) is moving to Canada on Wednesday....

2 years ago I got there at 5am and Parked in some public garage that wasn't far from Binnys at all.

Last year I got there early enough to park at Binnys

As far as uber/Lyft go it might be annoying having to carry all of your bottles around unless Binnys is your only stop.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting to be right by Binny's. And I think some folks (out of towners & suburban folk) don't have the tolerance for hunting for a spot and then walking a few blocks - that's just something that people living in the city have grown accustomed to. I still may do Uber/Lyft, as that is my only planned stop...really not sure where else people "hunt" on that day considering all the variants will basically be scooped up as soon as stores open. I'll hit other stores that I know do their releases in the following weeks to get more bottles.

Yeah, Uber/Lyft/cab seems like the way to go; question is, does BCS warrant surge pricing for Uber? :stuck_out_tongue:

What time did you get to Binny's for available parking?

I'm getting their Thursday night and hoping I can park at Binny's. Gotta knock this off the bucket list.

Does the parking structure across the street that is used for Trader Joe's, etc. get filled up quickly? No idea what the pricing on that is, though.

Maybe 9pm? There were still spots past 11 I think

Are they strict about not bottle sharing in line? I mean, it's gotta be pretty tough for a bunch of beer geeks to stand in line all night talking about beer and not be drinking beer.

I have never seen them personally stop someone but I know that they demand it doesnt happen.

I believe when Vav used to run this thing, the general consensus was "don't be a dick and ruin it for everyone else" (I'm paraphrasing; not my words). I think the idea is that there will probably be people sharing beer, but you shouldn't be too obvious about it, especially when the sun comes up. The issue isn't Binny's, the issue is city cares, and there's the risk that the whole thing gets shutdown if people are drinking in line too much (especially because there's a daycare across the street, so drinking nearby violates even more laws than it normally would). To be clear, I don't think Binny's would stop people from drinking (aside from maybe asking them to please do so), I think it'd be the cops that you should worry about.

I'm not here to tell anyone what to do or what not to do, just saying that I believe the above is where Binny's typically stands on the matter.

Can anyone comment on the availability of restrooms?

They'll setup some porta potties in the parking lot. Last year they were overflowing by 7-8am. Lot of people started to go to CVS and the employees were fine with it.

Will anyone know if you put some beer in a coffee cup and leave empties and coolers in your trunk or backpack.........the world may never know.
