2016 Black Note pt Deux

I'm looking forward to trying a BN b2 next to the b1 I still have. I wasn't blow away by b1, and that was the first time I had ever tried BN. Seems people think b2 is better.

I was however blown away by BA Expo - fortunate that one keg made it's way to Pittsburgh.

Hoping to try BA 30th this week - the base 30th was excellent.

 

Tasted them this week, and I agree:

BA Expo --------------------------->BN2----->BN1

 

Had BA Expo on tap on Friday at Bells. Its so amazing. Completely blows away Black Note.

 

BTW....finally sold out at the General Store today

 

Wife and I were in town for the Howie Day concert at Bell's Back Room and were shocked to see it still on the shelves. I bought three 4-packs on Sat. morning and there was only a few cases left that I could see.

I had the BA Expo on Friday night at the concert and it was real tasty. Going to crack a BN this week to compare!

 

Well crap, I've never been blown away by BA Expo, even this years but 2012 and 2014 BN were great

 

Wow. I would never have guessed it would hold out for a week.

 

Any word on whether this will hit distro? it usually doesn't does it?

 

Historically, Black Note does see limited distribution.

 

A small amount dropped today in Kalamazoo at 1/person...interestingly it's b1

 

Available in northwest Indiana today. Not sure how much they received but 2 bottle limit at the liquor store I went to. Their sister store had none. (That they would admit to)

 

Haven't checked, but Chalet Party Shoppe in Elkhart County was supposed to receive their shipments yesterday and today. 2 bottle limit.

 

Found it today in Grand Haven. Distributing in 4 packs.

I know it's coming downstate by me. Also sounds like more than last time, which was very little. Granted we're different distributors, but if we're getting it, that probably bodes well for you too.

Get a text from a friend last night who is visiting SW MI this weekend that says, "I'm staring at multiple 4 packs of BN on a shelf. $30 each. Worth it?" To which I promptly reply yes, and explain that this is the moment of truth in our 20+ year friendship. We've each got a 4 pack now. Really excited to get. I know it's slightly up charged, but I'm good with it considering the access that I typically get (i.e. 0-1 bottle, + or - 1 bottle) Place also had '16 BCBBW at $17 per.

Has there been any South East Michigan sightings? I would love to pick up a 4-pack. Any info is appreciated.

 

Just picked up two today in SE Michigan. Went to buy some wizard burial ground and saw the guy behind the counter pull out some BN. He said they just got it today, so I imagine that other stores have it right now or will be getting it over the next couple days.
