Welcome back everyone that participated last year, and welcome aboard to new folks!

As of right now, we are right at ten folks. I do have wishes to expand to twelve teams though, so first two BA's that have not previously reached out about joining that can BM me their email addresses get in.

Rule are fairly simple from a fantasy standpoint. Win the championship, win beer. Place second - fourth, win less beer. Place fifth or worse, you are shipping a minimum of 88 oz. of beer.

The league is a standard format H2H league with playoffs culminating the week prior to the final week of the regular season. Stat categories will be "standard-ish" with a few wild card stats to be included once we have a poll to find out what everyone prefers.

Draft, ideally, will take place around October 1st. We will also try to come to a best case scenario consensus on the draft date and time as well.

This was one of my bibles last year. Checked it religiously! Thanks @gopens44 for that advice!

I'll also add that I use https://www.nhl.com/schedule a lot. NERD ALERT! I utilized the schedules to build my own excel report on how many games a team plays each week. Really helped me at the end of the season.

I'll reply here to the post in last year's thread.

I'd like to be in if there's a spot open once you've heard from everyone that participated last year. In other words, count me in if a spot is open.

Last 3 invites sent out. If possible, join up as soon as you can (if not already done) so we can vote on a few items.

Up for vote - additional scoring categories, waiver wire rules and prize distro.

Looks like we have support for 12 teams this year so we'll shore up a few things to reflect and/or take advantage of the addition of two teams.

Alrighty folks, this league is officially full and therefore closed.

To everyone in, I'll be posting a few polls on the Yahoo site pretty soon but that's gonna be about all I'm going to use the Yahoo message board for.

Long story short, be on the lookout for notifications from Yahoo about polls.

Full league?!?! Sweet! Will be a fun time. Not sure if I should go auto draft since it seemed to work last year.

Let's go Rangers! Oh, who am I kidding...hopefully they make the playoffs.

Polls have closed, draft date set for Sunday, October 2nd at 8:00 PM (2000 hrs. EST). I have also set up the scoring categories in order to make pre-ranking a tad easier.

Last thing that needs to get settled is the distro plan. I've tentatively adopted the 4, 2, 1 and 1 (Presidential Trophy) plan but am still troubled with the extra box scenario if PT winner places in top three. For this reason, I am leaving the consolation bracket winner scenario on the table (instead of PT winner) to take up that lingering box.

    *OR*

We proceed with the above plan, but if the President's Trophy winner places in top three, consolation winner just doesn't have to ship, but doesn't win anything either. Kind of like a contingency.

Assuming we do this 4, 2, 1.......1 plan, what's everyone else's thoughts on the potential extra box?

As of now, I'm good for the draft. Looking forward to it and maybe I'll crack one of your beers from last season for it @gopens44

I'm up for anything on the extra box.

Glad to watch some hockey action in the preliminary World Cup games!

Couple good games already in the pre-tournament games. The USA Canada games were obviously great, but the RUS v. CZE game i saw Friday was pretty good as well.!

FYI...seems like draft is 8pm eastern time. Yahoo says 5pm PDT. Did a mock draft to get use to the system. Easy and quick.

I've done a few public league drafts and realized quite a bit with regard to trends

Great draft everyone! Had fun, even with picks getting snatched from me right as I wanted them.

So the season begins on the 12th. Is the first week a short one (12-16th) or long week (12-23rd).

There's a note that says week 1 stats may change when corrections are applied on Monday the 24th, so looks like it will be a long first week.

NHL is back! Glad to wake up, set my roster, check starters and injuries, add/drop a player, etc. Ready for the action to begin! Good luck everyone!
