Reading through a couple FB groups and some untappd reviews, I'm seeing repeated mention of "butter" and "burnt popcorn" smells and flavors and slick mouthfeel. Has anyone here opened any of their bottles? It seems like the reviews for draft pours are positive.

I have also heard the same. My friend told me he dumped the bottle he opened.

Luckily no issues yet with mine. Fingers crossed.

I opened one Saturday night and didn't notice any of those flavors. It was pretty similar to what I had on tap earlier that day. May just need some more time in the bottle

I heard a rumor that the Funkatorium pulled the keg of '16 off the taps about halfway through the day on Saturday. Replaced it with '15 but didn't advertise it that way.

I wonder if it was just a bad keg on tap? Could that have been the source of the Untappd reviews as well, or did they specifically state they were drinking bad bottles?

Care to expand on this? I've never heard anything about it. No snark, just curious.

I heard they pulled the keg of 16, but idk why. I have seen bottle reviews saying "butter", "Diacatyl", "rotten funk", "farts", on FB and on Untappd. I'm not sure about draft.

Yeah, I'm seeing it now. Several bottle reviews talking about a strong sulfur nose, etc.

I don't see anything on Untappd claiming that tap pours were bad, all reviews from Saturday early afternoon look good. So I'm still interested to know what happened to the keg that was pulled.

My friend was told on Sunday to let the bottles age for at least a month

I had it on draft and it tasted fine around 8:00 Saturday night and bartender said it was their last keg. No mention of '15 or '16 though.

Just popped open a bottle with my coworkers. To say that this is the worst product I have had by WW would be an understatement. I have experienced what I feel are issues with butter with WW beers but this takes it to another level. Straight up sulfur & rotten eggs. All three of us poured it out. Doesn't seem like a month of resting will help this issue much...

Sounds similar to when Crooked Stave Persica came out. That was a hot mess at first, and then after a couple of months if was fantastic. I am very interested to crack a bottle and see what everyone is talking about.

Was at the Funkatorium to pick up bottles and try on tap Saturday right around noon. They pulled the keg pretty quickly and cited "carbonation" issues. Don't know if that was alleviated later in the day, but Golden Angel was crossed off the board Saturday mid-day. Bottle pick up was super easy, so its definitely disappointing to hear, but hopefully time will allow the off flavors to settle and this will be an enjoyable one to crack in a few months...

Had it on tap when they opened and after they switched kegs. First keg had a prominent apricot nose, didn't notice anything terrible. Nice taste and tartness. Also had the switched keg whose nose wasn't as prominent (probably because it was the 15). Not sure what's going on if some needs longer and some doesn't. Very unfortuante

They pulled the 16 kegs because they were way over carbed. They slowly let the pressure out over a couple of hours and put it back on. These bottles are bottle conditioned so sometimes they have issues when they keg them.

When I had it on tap Saturday afternoon it was wonderful, just straight apricot juice, not quite as tart as last years if memory serves.

Diacetyl can clean up with a little bit of time. The Bruery Hottenroth with Peaches had that issue and they asked buyers to wait for pickup, after roughly 8 weeks they were fine. Hopefully this is similar.

I had it on tap Saturday around 12:00 and once it warmed it had a burnt popcorn or fart smell to it. The keg was pulled for "sulfur smell" is what I was told. I haven't opened any of my bottles but have heard from people they were experiencing the same qualities in the bottles.
