Stumbled on this while searching for ANY details on the first 2016 releases from NG.

A beer listing on the site I cannot find anywhere else except via this link and it is labeled Oud Bruin 2016. Hope this is true. I know it was a big fan favorite. The last few months have been a little blah with stouts and one can only handle so much Staghorn and Fat Squirrel (and Scream IPA). Ready for some change ups. Hell I wouldn't mind the classic Cabin Fever which is tasty on tap.

Nice find. I didn't think the 2015 was great, but it wasn't bad either and had improved with some time on it. Think I still have a 4 pack resting away.

Looks like we can finally have a dedicated 2016 Upcoming New Glarus beers thread now.

I called and the person told me that there might be no new seasonal for January. I'll take it with a grain of salt but I don't know why they are sticking with the two seasonal rotation versus the three they used to carry per month. So we might be stuck with Fat Squirrel and the Stout again for Jan and she hinted no Cabin Fever this year.

I would really like something crisp and lighter than the brown ale and stout..

I just hope for something new in Thumbprints, not Copy + Paste.

Based on the initial release of the calendar, and the the presumption that Oud Bruin will be returning, I'm guessing you will be out of luck. I'd speculate that there might be one new Thumbprint this year, if we are lucky, and I'd hope it's more exciting than Milk Stout.

Here's also to hoping that the 2016 Oud Bruin is better than the 2014 version.

Just saw the schedule update. Wow super lame. If they only have fat squirrel and coffee stout for the next two months I have no reason to make my seasonal pilgrimage to the brewery. I hope that changes.

And really.. Apple Ale year round again possibly? How much do they have and how much do they sell? Overall the reception to it seems so very lukewarm. I find it to be so average.

The thumbprint bottle says, "A few times a few we cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses." If Oud Bruin is next, perhaps Dan is stuck in Ground Hog's Day.

If you dig up the BA thread about suggestions for NG beers for 2016, I said I don't think they acknowledge the results. I stand by that.

I'd have to speculate that there will be a Feb seasonal release or two, based on the fact that Coffee Stout and Fat Squirrel "end" in Feb.

All that matters is that they brew cranbic again this year.

I never come right out and ask because I don't want to be that guy, but a friend of mine works at the brewery, is pretty high up the chain, and even leads the hard hat tours at times. We got together the other night and I asked him if anything new and exciting was coming out this year (didn't ask what the special release calendar was or what was on it) and he mentioned that they are going to have a new year-round lager...

Hopefully they are keeping the 2 women year round.

Right, and to be fair he had drank about 9 brandy old fashions by then so hopefully he misspoke, but I usually take him at his word about these types of things.

We can only hope it would be the Original Two Women Lager, or perhaps the Unplugged Bohemian Lager. I'd also settle for Edel-Pils.

It will probably be Totally Naked.

Last time I was at Woodmans in Beloit, about 3-4 weeks ago, there was a 2016 production schedule on the mountain of NG. Thought I took a pic but can't find it. It listed 2016 Oud Bruin as the only additional thumbprint and Dancing Man as a seasonal in the summertime but nothing else new other than the regular lineup.

Edel-Pils would be great, or hometown blonde.
