Woodman's West in Madison (on Gammon Road) for stuff that may not be distributed in IA (and far cheaper New Glarus stuff that isn't the R&D).

Cow and Quince or Glarner Stube in New Glarus for delicious eats.

Heading up to NG to pick up some on Saturday. Do they allow bottle shares or do any typically happen? This is my first time up there.

The beer garden is a beautiful sight to see. Everyone is extemely nice and friendly and there will probably be a few bottle shares happening there.

How have the R&D releases been lately as far as when supply runs out? If I stroll in at noon, is it pretty certain that I'll be able to grab bottles still?

Based on the last few releases, you'll be fine at noon.

I'm, honestly tempted to make the trek there, but wouldn't be able to make it till Sunday. Do my fellow BAs think there's a chance that there will be some left? I would be coming from St. Paul, assuming I'm not too hung over after my friend's birthday party Saturday.

I would call and ask them if it'll be available Sunday. For past releases, I think they've delayed putting it in the depot even when they haven't sold out the few days of the release. Would want to go all the way from MSP and strike out.

Anyone go today? How is the beer? How were the lines?

Yup. I went at 10:30 to avoid any "pre-lines". Walked right up and grabbed the R&D Pommier Sauvage and a sampler wristband. The beer is great

I finally made it to new glarus for the first time ever and I could not have been more impressed. I now know what the polar opposite of Dark Lord Day is. Deb went through the line and shook every single person's hand and thanked them for coming out which was kind of amazing. The guy in front of me asked her who she was and she said "I started the brewery" in this crazy chill way which made me like her instantly. I got there at 8:15am and was probably about 50-75 people back and they started selling bottles at 8:30am which was awesome since I was expecting to be standing there for another 30 mins. Walked in and had bottles in hand in about 5 mins. Hit the beer depot to stock up on some of their other awesome offerings (bonus points for the fact that you could mix your own 4 and 6 packs!!) and was back on the road before 9am. I drove 2+ hours each way so didn't partake in any bottle share activity but I saw lots of people casually drinking some awesome stuff for the few minutes I was there. I haven't cracked into mine yet (I did enjoy a nice fresh Scream just now) so I can't speak to how the R&D is drinking but even if it sucks (which I doubt) I'd still call it an awesome experience. I hope next year at least one of the R&D offerings falls on a day when I can get a hotel room or something with the family and spend some more time there.

Awesome. glad to hear that it's not super insane. We'll be making the trek up tomorrow to grab some beers, do some hiking and have lunch in town. Love me some NG.

Sierra Nevada can do no wrong, except Torpedo tastes like Pin Sol to me but they get a mulligan on that one.

There are trails all around New Glarus, some paved and some not.

If it's anything like the last several, there's enough for the day.

Especially with it not being GTMW weekend.

Got there an hour early for kicks. Started selling at 9, was done in 5 mins. By the time I was out the end of the line was walking up. Easy peasy. They have this down pat. Deb was walking around and shaking everyone's hand again. Nice touch. Impressive how fast it moved considering it's Oktoberfest weekend up here.

You guys recommend letting these bottles age at room temp?
