I'm not a Hawks hater, and while I do enjoy an iconic NHL franchise from time to time, that Blues team has a lot of stars that need a nice, big stage to captivate that larger hockey community. Fabbri is going to be a star, Lehtera is underrated and I have been a Parayko fan since I plucked him off waiver wires back in October. Not to mention fellas like Tarasenko, Shattenkirk and Schwarz who have enjoyed only limited stardom. This team gets their long term goalie situation figured out (probably Allen) and they should have at least 3 - 4 more years of being in the cup contender conversation.

@Lazhal - here's an Islanders blog on what they prescribe as proper craft choices for the upcoming series

I'm still sulking over it. I will say as a fan we've been wildly spoiled with the Hawks success the last 6 years. They played with the heart of a champion getting it to game 7, but kudos to the Blues on a well deserved win.

I really didn't think the Hawks had another run in them this year given the path they would have had to take, and it's awfully tough to make that run emotionally two years in a row.

Having said all that, now that my boys are out, I can focus my energies on trying to win some beer. Let's go Stars!!!!

While I'm a homer with the Blues, honestly, based on past experience, I figured the Hawks would take game 7. I felt like once we had 2OT loss, momentum shifted and the ride was downhill. Certainly glad they got out of the first round but still a lot of hockey to be played.

Thought for sure I'd be seeing cries for Armstrong to be fired and for Hitch not to be offered a contract today. Quite surprised I get at least another 4 Blues games out of this season. One hell of a series and quite fun trying to keep it down during the late games with a 3 month old.

Well I turn on the islanders lightning game a few minutes into the 3rd, and kutcherov scores immediately, a mirror image goal of two others vs the wings.

God Damn he's like a left handed great eight.

Well I think we just saw the turning point in the islanders lightning series.

Can't believe their defense is that bad.

I'm crossing my fingers that I lucked out with the Lightning. In a perfect world, they'll lose to the Pens in conference finals so I can have my beer and drink it too! Or something like that.....

Saturday night had better be a good night for Antarctic inhabitants. I don't think I can survive much more of that series!

So I turn the game off when it gets to be 3-0. See it's tied and watch overtime to see I owe beer.

Should have trusted the Caps would be who we thought they were...

As luck would have it, I'll either be celebrating another trip to the Stanley Cup finals by my team or more beer from a Lightning advance. I know that this here website is dedicated to the happiness surrounding beer and all, but I think I'd be happy with one box of beer to enjoy with the Stanley Cup win memories - Let's go Pens! That and I reckon I shouldn't get too greedy after making the conference finals with 15th pick. Playoff hockey, right?

As a Pens and Cardinals fan, I see tragic parallels between the Caps and the Cubs.
