You'll know when they're sightings at a costco because people won't shut up about it.

And by the time the post appears here the two cases Costco had will be gone.

San Mateo -- BevMo has Parabola 1 per $15.99. Just was delivered. Whole Foods doesn't have it yet, I talked to the Beer/Wine manager there and she said hopefully very soon. I also went to Costco Foster City and none.

BevMo Redlands has Parabola $15.99 each, 2pp

If you get there quick you might even be able to score the 4pk of KBS I decided not to buy at the last minute.

Found some tonight in Shoreline at Village Market Thriftway on Ballinger. You can also try Whole Foods but they may be out.

Just cracked a 2016, tasting great fresh. Not hot at all, but get some of the barrel character, especially as it warms, dark fruit finish. This is my favorite batch to date. This doesn't need to sit.

Just picked up a bottle at Albertsons. They just had one bottle left, but it might be worth checking your local store.

    [Crossposted in other Parabola thread]

I'm hoping to get some advice from the group. I was able pick up a bottle on Friday and should be able to purchase a couple more. I may be able to track down some in addition to this, but I am debating about how many to target. For context, this is the first year I have sought out beers like Parabola, so I don't have past experience to use as a reference point. The beer would pretty much be for my own consumption - I have not really gotten into trading.

One question I have relates to how this beer ages. I have read in a few posts that it seems to be good for around 1 - 2 years, but things get dicey after this. Is this what others have experienced?

Also, I might start to attend some bottle shares, both locally and around festivals. Again, I am basically a novice when it comes to this. Would this beer be welcomed at most bottle shares or would it be looked down upon since it is technically a "shelf" beer?

Additionally, for anyone who has the option to buy multiple bottles, do you have general thoughts on how you determine a number to target?

I'm not sure if this the right place for these questions - please let me know if I should post this elsewhere. Thanks in advance.

I typically find a case or two because it's my favorite beer and I like to have it about once a month or so until the next release. I also like to use this in french pressing, so yeah.

It does great. And I don't think anyone will ever consider it a shelf beer since of the firestone BA boxed stuff, Parabola is the one that disappears the fastest.

I had a 2012 a month ago that was amazing. Seems to hold up just fine for years. As for shares, in my experience Parabola is a welcome but not mind-blowing contribution. You have to keep in mind there are, what, 4000 CASES this year? It's seasonal, but far from uncommon. I bought six last year and have only cracked two...there's so much other good beer to drink.

Furthest back I can go was a 2011 we cracked open about 2 months ago. It was drinking mighty fine.

Is that a schnauzer in your avatar? I have a mini schnauzer and love him to death. He's like my third child. To keep this on topic, he loves to drink Parabola with me.
