Appears this year's Sam Adams Long Shot will feature a raspberry berliner, a Belgian golden, and a Flanders red. Anyone tried this year's six pack? Or how about previous year's? Really curious about this concept and whether it's actually worth seeking out...

I look forward to this release every year. The majority is very good to excellent. Every once in a while there will be one I do not care for but it's my tastes. This years may be tough for me as I am not a big fan of sours. The Golden should be good. Take care.

Yeah, excited for the golden myself - the Flanders Red to some degree as well, though I'm always a little skeptical of a fruited hefe.

Heard mixed reactions to previous year's sixers - though I still think it's a super cool idea and applaud SA for continuing it.

Well, you've baited me: Why are these two styles not finding you well?

Usually enjoy the Longshots very much. So far I've tried the Berliner and Flanders. Berliner had a good sourness to it with sweet raspberry, liked it a lot. The Flanders was also good, not quite as sour, reminded me of Sam Adams Stony Brook Red. Will report back after trying the golden.

Where can I find these in MD? Don't remember seeing anything like this before on shelves but it looks interesting.

I loved the Blackened Hops from a few years back. I've hoped since that they would revive it for a one-off, but nah.

Don't think its made its way on to the shelves in my area quite yet, but I'll be on the lookout for it. I generally enjoy trying the Longshot beers. There've been some really good ones in past years.

I still fondly remember the Traditional Bock from...2009, IIRC.

I agree 100% with you here. IMO that beer was OUTSTANDING!!

I am guessing that Boston Beer Company has some sort of policy against productizing Long Shot beers but they really should have added Traditional Bock to their lineup.

    Cheers!
