Anybody had one recently? Im drinking one right now and it seems like theres a little tartness to it. The only date i see on it is best by 11/8/17, its hard to read though.

Had one a few weeks ago. Fantastic.

Your pallette might be giving you a hard time.

Haven't had a bad bottle but I definitely prefer it fresh.

Good reminder that I have 4 bottles. I'll drink one tomorrow night and report back.

No first hand experience with Stovepipe this year for me mainly due to the fact that a friend was told there was some bad bottles out there. Don't know to what extent the problem is but didn't want to take a chance.

Unfortunate since it was awesome last year. Why can't bourbon barrels and awesome Wisconsin coffee stouts just get along??:slight_frown:

I had a bottle last weekend and don't know if I'd say it was bad, but it was definitely a shell of its former self and had an odd tartness to it. In my opinion, BA coffee beers are best fresh or with a year on them. When you get into the middle ground of about 6 months they usually have a muddled off taste about them.

Opened a bottle this afternoon and sadly, there is definitely an off taste and aroma. The beer is still good, but no where near as good as it was fresh. I let a 2015 bottle sit for about 10 months and that still was delicious.

If you have any 2016 bottles drink them now. My other 3 will be finished in the next few days since they will most likely turn sour in the next month or so.

I also appreciate that you started this thread, so I could still enjoy the bottles I purchased.

I was able to return the 3 remaining bottles to the store and exchange it for other beer for the same total price. I was really looking forward to enjoying Stovepipe this year. Bummed it went sour.

Well that sucks. I liked it so much last year i bought like 8 bottles. I was hoping it was just that bottle

Drank another one last Saturday after worrying about this thread. No off flavors to report. Smooth and delicious.

I have no idea how they were bottled and if some are fine and some are not. I just did not want to risk it and the store was willing to exchange for me. It is an awesome beer. so it's good to know your bottles have been fine.
