I have a canopy that's about 10x30 and last year I had to put the 10ft side along the curb. I brought the inverter and had color changing LED lighting around the inside and we were cooking up grilled cheese pulled pork tomato soup and a bunch of other stuff.

Hoping to be a little better organized this year and get the canopy set up the long way with talk of a Nintendo NES set up for play. Haven't hammered down the menu yet but it will be something tasty. Maybe I'll be cliché and bring a Hammershlagen log.

If anyone has other ideas how we can make this DD awesome I'm open.

I'm assuming there were supposed to be commas in there? Otherwise, I'd like your recipe.

You haven't had @wardpower's grilled cheese pulled pork tomato soup? He immersion blends it all together. Mmmmm. Just like breaking your jaw and drinking everything through a straw.

Maybe this year BA Darkness will be aged longer than 3 months!

I thought they were released separately last year as well, or was that only distro?

Only at distro. You could buy both at D-Day.

That BA Darkness release is going to be a shit show.....not that Darkness Day isn't a shit show....but I can see it being much worse.

I don't think not getting 1 bottle at Darkness Day could make this year much worse - last year's BA Darkness release already was a shit show. It was sold out at all stores around me before I got home from my job. I was able to find as much Darkness as I wanted for a few days with some stores getting later shipments.

Here is your 2016 BA Darkness label. Rye Whiskey barrels again this year.

I really enjoy how the Rye Whiskey barrels transform Darkness into an even more complex BA RIS. Bummed it won't be at the release but the extra time in barrels will be worth it. Surly has treated Iowa well with a small distro and a keg of it here and there. Hope that continues

Pretty excited that I might make the journey this year. Might be "sick", that Friday. This will be my first time heading over, how early is too late for the beer typically? Regardless, sounds like an awesome time, even if I don't snag any.

I would to see a scenario where those at Darkness Day could purchase tickets for the BA version, and then return for redemption when bottles are ready.

So let's walk through the logistics of what this would take. Surly is too big to sell bottles or growlers out of it's brewery. They are able to sell out of their Brooklyn Center location on Darkness Day due to a unique situation. Brooklyn Center is a municipal controlled liquor store town. For one day a year, Surly leases out it's BC location to the city to be a city controlled liquor store.

To give out a ticket for future redemption would mean having to set up a second day to lease the premises back to the city. Inevitably, not everyone that buys a ticket will be able to redeem it on the second day, leading to complaints about fairness of attainability. To do it any other way would (I'm guessing here) run afoul by not going through the three-tier distribution channels. The only thing uglier would be to somehow get every liquor store that receives BA Darkness to take a "ticket" sold as a form of payment which I'm sure would start paving the way for counterfeit tickets being generated and redeemed.

Sorry about that, guess that proves I shouldn't always post from work. When you spend all day looking at process efficiencies sometimes it's tough to turn the brain off. My apologies to @Sinatra716.
