Yes. Maker's Mark holds the patent on red wax, and I believe they sent Surly a cease and desist letter about using that color.

If there is a Darkness Day at all. Surly hasn't said anything about it yet....

 

I would be willing to bet the date will be 10/22/2016. It seems for years Surly has had DDay the week before the Haloween date.

 

No way a patent on red wax! I want some red wax Darkness was disappointed in the black wax last year.

 

I though the gold wax on the BA tasted the best of the three

I really dig this year's label. It almost seemed like the past few years were a bit "busy". I like that the Cerberus keeps it simple and holds the Darkness tradition of evil creatures.

It's always the weekend before Halloween.

 

Not when the date gets really close to Halloween. There have been two exceptions (or one depending on the Clintonesque definition of "weekend"):

October 24th/25th 2014
October 25th/26th 2013
October 26th/27th 2012
October 21st/22nd 2011
October 22nd/23rd 2010
October 23rd/24th 2009
October 24th/25th 2008

But unless you have plans that far in advance, whatever. We'll find out soon enough.

 

That'll teach me to get bored of digging that deep into dates after finding 4 years.

We just got Surly distribution recently, so I'm anxious to see if I can bag some Darkness.

 

Was BA Darkness available last years Darkness day, or did that only hit distro?

 

Darkness Day last year had a bottle limit of 6 Darkness and 1 BA Darkness.
