If 750ml bottles are considered growlers in MN and that might be the reason they are considering discontinuing Darkness Day, why not bottle it in 22oz bottles then? Problem solved.

Not sure if serious. You can't sell those at any brewery in MN...

Surly is not actually selling the bottles at Darkness Day. Brooklyn Center Municipal Liquor Store is.

True, but 22oz fixes nothing either way if it's about capacity at the Brooklyn Center location vs. Minneapolis.

I believe @sean_mpls was referring to the fact that no brewery can sell a 22 oz bottle, not that Brooklyn Center is leasing out the brewery for the day to do the event. A little refresher on Minnesota law for everyone:
    https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/age/forms-documents/Documents/2016 LIquor Laws Handbook1.pdf
...and for those folks who want Surly to go the voucher route with local retailers as an alternative option to Darkness Day "sales"...

My friends and I came from Chicago and had a great time this year with one exception.
With some of the beers we brought we didn't drink overnight and turns out someone stole 3 beers from our coolers while we slept.

    2015 BA Darkness
    Three Floyds Behemoth
plus some water we had in the coolers

Everyone who shared beers with us was great and we have never had issues in the past with how friendly everyone is. We were shocked that they basically stole every waxed beer we had left in our coolers. This was very disappointing after having a great time the entire night hanging out with everyone
Looks like we will need locks on our coolers next year.

Sorry to hear that, some people are just inherently dicks. Some people in our group had two coolers disappear, they ended up way on the other side and some beer had been taken, but also, strangely, some beer had been added. Weird situation.

Unfortunately, there were first reports of beer thieves in 2014, if memory serves. I know there were some reports here, & a good friend lost a 2010 Rare out of his cooler that D-Day Eve. I've taken to bringing a small cooler with a couple "on deck" beers & leaving the big cooler in our locked car.

Sad it's come to this, but there are a few assholes in every crowd.

I'll brag by saying I was too drunk to set up my tent (drunk + wind = 25 minutes with no luck), so I whipped out my sleeping back and slept on top of it...Buddy lost his wallet in a biffy at like 3am and it turned up in the lost and found!

I was ecstatic how great I felt Saturday morning. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of eating the leftover Domino's that had been sitting out all night. It didn't kick in until after I got my wristband, but my stomach is still wrecked.

Surly volunteer guy on a bike with a megaphone went past us no less than 3 times announcing that if you were parked at any church you had to move your vehicle. Pretty sure this was also announced by some more Surly volunteers in a golf cart. This was probably around the 5PM time frame.

He didn't tell us to move our vehicles, he was literally riding around near the front of the line saying if you were parked in the church parking lot you were f***** lol.

Erik...I'm sorry to hear this (I'm the owner of Stubs) could you send me a message on here or to let me know exactly what happened. We had our lines cleaned the morning of the event so if it was an issue with that I'd like to talk to my line cleaner. Thanks

Ran into a co-worker who got one of the last bracelets. He went to buy his a little after 3 and they said they were out. Granted his time was 2:30-3 but I found it odd they would tell someone with a bracelet they were out. Did they have an open sale at 4 still?

At 3 is when they sold whatever was left over to whoever was lined up.

He forfeited his bottles by missing his slot and not getting them before 3.

Seems to me like his mistake was showing up after 3 when his time was 2:30 to 3. They sold to everybody else starting at 3, not 4 and there were plenty of people ready to get into that line at 2 when I got mine.
