2016 Surly Darkness

No one is saying if places are out. I'm curious if Total Wine Bloomington lasted the 4-5 hours it's been. Surprised by the 1 bottle limit there and 2 at Eden Prairie.

 

Total Wine stores seem to be inconsistent with each other all the time.

 

Does anyone know the bottle count? Numbers were being thrown around at DDay near or exceeding 30k.

St. Anthony Village off of New Brighton Blvd has 3 cases left, 1pp either 20.99 or 21.99.

 

Would be interested in this too. I was in a local store looking for something else and was talking to the beer manager. We got on the subject of Darkness and he said last year they only got 1 case, but this year they are getting 2.

Seems like there maybe at least a descent amount more to go around this year.

 

On another note, Darkness is now on tap at Grumpys.

 

considering none of the batch was used for BA Darkness, theres definitely a lot more around. most stores i talked to definitely got more this year. i heard of a number (80,000) but who knows. nothing to back it.

 

I agree - the few stores I spoke with said they got at least twice as much as last year. Considering Surly is now distributing this outside of MN, they probably cranked out quite a bit more Darkness compared to years past. Hopefully the same can be said of the BA version when that comes out, too.

 

Wandered over there from my office after posting this. At least a few cases out on display.

Cub Bloomington has no limit. Going fast though. Probably a couple of cases left.

Wow have not been on here much and was not expecting a text from my mom today with a picture of darkness for me. Anyone know anything about when to expect it in Rochester? Maybe even more specifically at Costco?

 

(not intending to sound like an arse) call them. theyll tell you when.

 

We're out of this years Darkness at Ace, but we do have a couple assorted cases of 2013, 2014, and 2015 (non BA) Darkness for sale with a limit of one total per costumer (not one of each). All are priced at $19.99.

 

For what it's worth I asked Omar at the Surdyks signing about a future Darkness Day, and he pretty much said "Well I say that every year, but in the event we don't host it next year, I can say I told ya so" and then signed my bottle below

Darkness day in the Sioux Falls area is Tuesday. Not sure I'll get my hands on any as most places are putting them out between 10AM and Noon. Some of us work, and some of us work a half hour from the nearest liquor store.
