I spoke to todd a few weeks back. He said the volume of ba darkness this year will be similar to last year. No additional variants in the works

Spread out to three new states and that's a lot less BA Darkness to go around.

oh yeah you have my exact thoughts in mind with three more states I was wondering if they considered or even could increase the brew amounts this year or I bet it will be really scarce.

I hope to get to Darkness day again so not super worried but if that falls through I will be concerned about even getting any this year.

I get why BA Darkness is limited, but not why non-BA Darkness is limited. Seems like it is popular and they'd sell as much as they can make. Do they lack enough Unicorn hairs or Phoenix feathers?

So no confirmed date for Darkness Day 2016 yet?

Sounds like they are going to brew more Darkness this year, pushing BA Darkness back to Feb/March. At least that's what Todd was saying on the Mn Beercast a while back.

I read it was Saturday, October 29th, but not sure how confirmed that is.

Bad news I guess for those looking for BA, but good news if they're increasing non-BA output. Must have found more unicorn!!!!!

So, if this is true, it likely means those of us going to Darkness Day are no longer guaranteed a bottle of BA Darkness. Bummer.

If there is, in fact, a Darkness Day....

It would be really nice if Surly kept BA Darkness in Minnesota being that it is the beer community here that allowed them to become what they are now.

Technically speaking I would consider 2015 BA Darkness a variant...There was also that pappy BA version I had on tap at the old brewery around 2013ish?. I even have had double dry hopped darkness on tap at the old brewery that's kind of a variant as well. So there!

EDIT: BTW, just messing with ya. I don't think we are going to see a Darkness Bramble or vanilla rye or anything... which I am sure was more what he was talking about.

If they're the ones I'm thinking of, they had bourbon-soaked oak spirals added.

This statement is missing a critical helping verb. Is it "may not" or "will not"?

Man, how much more do they need...they already make something like 35,000 bottles per year
