Fort George just posted a pic of the planning meeting for next year's 3-Way: Reuben's and Great Notion. Like "whoa".

T minus 6 or 7 months, but it'll feature some of the best of the Northwest and "Northeast," so the wait should be worth it. "Whoa" indeed.

Ninja edit? I could swear you first posted Reuben's and Cloudburst. (Seemed strange to me anyway, that both collaborators would be from the same city.)

Funny thing: As soon as I saw the thread title, my first thought was, "I wonder if one of the collaborators will be one of the new places doing NE-style IPAs."

Yeah, somebody in the FB comments guessed Cloudburst and I had that on the brain when I first posted. My bad :flushed:

Nailing it again. Though I do hope it is more consistent this year. Last years was a bit different with each batch, all good, but all a little different. Looking forward to this one again as always.

The benchmark-setting 2014 recipe also showed variation from batch-to-batch, as I recall. It was always good, but some cannings were extraordinary.

I've got nothing to add. Just excited for another year of 3-Way.

I've got nothing to add either but since I don't want to start another thread and we tend to drift off topic anyway I thought I'd mention that Grandfather Raven is at the new Lynnwood Costco.

Reuben's has two Beta batches (12.1 and 12.2) on tap right now. They're only doing 4 oz pours of them but still a good amount to get an idea. They're both hazy, but one is bitter while the other is straight juice.

I feel like the window for this beer needs to be like 6 months and not just a handful of canning runs. Really anxious for this one as its still one of the best collaborations out there.

I was fortunate enough to try the collaboration beer Great Notion helped make for the NWIPA anniversary party. It completely changed my impression of GN when it comes to making IPA's and DIPA's. The beer was slightly hazy with plenty of citrus, but the finish was hugely bitter and satisfying. It was easily the best IPA I have ever tried from GN, and gave me a much better appreciation of the brewer's skills there. Based on that experience, I am very excited to sample the upcoming 2017 three way, and predict it may well be the best 3 way ever (though I'm well aware that they have some VERY big shoes to fill).

I liked these test batches a lot, but 2014 is still king. Curious if they'll end up going with the bitter (a lot like Phantom Chair) or the straight juice version.

Pure speculation, but I think they're going with 12.0 or 12.1 and 12.2 is out. They're the only ones currently on at the brewery taprooms and they only added the beer labels to those two on Untappd. Is 12.2 the more bitter one?
