2017 Dark Horse 4 Elf Party

The party and the pre-party line share is a lot of fun. But I've never really been a huge fan of BBpt5. First year I went I ended up unloading all but a 4 pack to friends or in trades.

Honestly, I prefer the non-BA version, which is one of the better non-BA imperial stouts around.

 

PT5 is my favorite RIS and even though I'm not a bourbon lover, the BBAPT5 is like candy to me. Since you call PT5 "one of the better", what ranks high on your list of RIS?

 

3 different versions of barrel aged 20th anniversary.

Rum, bourbon and double barrel.

Anyone tried these, know anything about them? Not sure I want a whole 4 pack of them.

 

This will be my first 4-Elf party and I'm pretty excited. Bringing some good cellar-aged Hill Farm beers to share! If I get there around 4pm Saturday and put in an order ticket, when would that be filled? And will all the beers still be available? Thanks!

 

Usually all that's left on Saturday is BBPt5 and 4 Elf Winter Warmer. In the past you needed to get there on Friday for the others.

 

My favorite is Founders Imperial Stout. Ten Fidy is also very good. Those two and Pt5 would probably be my top three for non-BA, non-additive imperial stouts.

No reason to get there early unless your coming for the share.

I don't know what asshole tastes like, but I bet it tastes a little like BB 4 guy.

 

Looks like about 500 less cases of BB Plead than last year. I'm not surprised as it lasted for over a week in the company store after the party last year. I'm hoping it will be there Sunday this year

 

Just to be clear, the sharing part of the event is on Friday while waiting in line.

At the 4-elf party on Saturday, all beers are purchased drafts.

 

Anyone got a line update? Wanna swing by and put my order in, but not if it’s gonna take an hour.

 

No line it's amazing. Parking right in front. I rolled up at 10:30, 360 and was told they have filled orders and still some of all the variants left, bar has seating and Pt5 and 20th are solid. This is a beer nerd dads dream

I was the lone man at the fish tank table enjoying some pours before the drive back to the inlaws. It was a pleasent escape

 

I absolutely loved this beer when I had it fresh. I talked to one guy at the share last night who had one recently and said it was awful.

Maybe one that simply didn't age well.

 

Opened one a week ago and it tasted just as great as it did fresh.
