2017 Dark Horse 4 Elf Party

Palates then I suppose. Oh well. I do hope they make it again. BB Oil is tasting pretty good this year, but not on par with BB 4 guy.

 

Party was awesome yesterday. Rolled in around 4pm and was order #490. All bottles were still available! Had a bunch of pours and food and enjoyed a lot of funny conversations around one of the fires. Will definitely be back next year!

 

Party was awesome as always, was order #37, the only thing that I didn't get the full allocation was BBP5th and Jaa Raspberry(didn't get any), Rum Barrel 4-elf is highly underrated.

 

Dang, that's it? Just a couple posts? This party was a 20-page thread merely a couple years ago. Losing its gusto?

 

Any brewery's not doing kitchen sink BA stouts have been losing steam the past 2-3 years. DH still puts out quality stuff at reasonable prices so I haven't stopped buying yet but have purchased less than in years past.

 

Also, there’s really not much to discuss anymore. They make enough beer for anyone that wants to purchase it. You don’t need to line-up over night anymore, and it’s a great time!

 

The only way to get huge, rambling threads anymore is with a little bit of controversy.

I was #502 and was told everything was still available and they took the limits away too. He said they didn't have quite the turnout they expected.

I was extremely disappointed to find out after the 2-hour drive home that the packaging team gave me Rum 4Elf instead of the BourbRum Pt5 that I ordered. I was excited for that BR too... and I paid $10 more per 4-pack. Partially my fault for not double checking my order before leaving.

 

Kudos to Dark Horse for another great 4-elf party. I hope that they have some rum barrel 4-elf and BBP5th available. I have requests for more than the limits. LOL

 

A bit disappointed in Dark Horse. Was passing through around 4:00 Saturday. Stopped in and asked in the ordering tent how long it was taking to fill orders and was told 30 min tops and that "they've been on top of orders all day!!!". That being the case, I filled out an order form, left to get some gas and a bite to eat (had the family with me), then returned 45 min later. Was now told that my order wouldn't be filled until 8:00!!! They ended up discarding my order sheet, but I ended up wasting close to 2 hours of my day when all could have been avoided with a quick honest response in the first place.

 

While I don't doubt something went wrong with your order, it is very strange considering I got there around the same time you did and my order was ready in an hour. Did you order a crazy amount of bottles?

 

No, just a case of bapt5 and 1 other 4 pack.

 

I think there was bloodshed last year. Some bonehead dove into a graveyard table and left a blood trail IIRC. Stuff like that can give a thread some legs.

 

That was actually 2 years ago, as I was right by the table when it happened. Dude got kicked out. Unless it happened again last year too...

 

That's such an easy order, they really dropped the ball on that one.

 

Stopped by Dark Horse today, as I was driving past Marshall and had recently consumed one of my last bottles of 2014 BBPt5. It was fantastic -- lots of black licorice and really delicious... I think I liked that one bottle more than any other one I've had.

Anyhow, wanted to pass along that all of the party releases were still available in bottles. I suspect they'll all be there for a few days, at least.

 

Hopefully they will last until the weekend, even though I dropped $500 last weekend. LOL

 

Where in Indiana are you from? If you are anywhere in the South Bend/Plymouth/Warsaw/Elkhart area, I'll hook you up with a bottle of Bourbrum.
