I know a lot of you think its way too early to even think about fall seasonals in the middle of summer, but for me, I look forward to them (earlier the better). I know its only July, but they're starting to appear. The first I've seen so far is Shiner Oktoberfest. Not the best, but still a fall seasonal. What have you seen hit the shelf? Prost!!

2013 Shiner Oktoberfest was one of the best available that year. Since then it hasn't been as good.

Legal Draft is releasing their Lawktoberfest on August 1st. I'll be buying some.

Too damn hot still for Oktoberfest style beers and fall style beers. Just my humble opinion. I love some of the marzen styles that breweries in the state do, but it is way too early for them, lol!

The wife and I were looking at the closest Specs to us because we didn't have any sessionable beers. I was wondering if they had Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest. But the store does NOT have good turnaround... They still have Southern Star winter seasonal and Rahr Bucking Bock. The other beer stores may have SN Oktoberfest but not this one. I will be looking for the Okto's in August speaking as that's when they seem to be available here... I don't start craving them until September but who knows.

I do think that Märzen could easily be a year-round style but the Bitter Sisters who have it is to sweet and simple I think.

Wether you like them popping up now or not, they're starting to appear. Two more to add to the list:
    Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin
    Alamo Oktoberfest

Rahr Oktoberfest arrived in Houston yesterday, and I'm drinking one now. It's a good beer, I'll be buying more.
Also, SN Oktoberfest has not arrived here yet either.

I know the Specs near me won't get the Southern Star Okto. The closest location to me still has a ton of the Winter Warmer and the location I prefer going to still has a lot of the Spring Pils and they don't seem to put out multiple seasonals at the same time. I went to this Specs this weekend and they hadn't got any Oktoberfests out yet, so I just bought a 6'er of the Spring Pils and it was very tasty.

I plan on buying as many of the Texas options as I can and doing comparisons (Throwing in SN for good measure).

Oktoberfests I know I'm planning on buying:
    Southern Star
    Legal Draft
    Rahr
    Shiner
    Real Ale
    Sierra Nevada
Live Oak (If I can make it down to Austin and find it available)

This is going to be an expensive and alcohol fuelled season for me.

Live oak is canning their Oaktoberfest this year! I'm really excited about that as it's definitely in my top five of favorite Oktoberfests! Anyone seen the Sam Adams Fall Variety Pack or Oktoberfest in Texas yet? It's my wife's favorite Oktoberfest.

I was wondering if they'd can Oaktoberfest because they've been canning so much lately. That's really exciting news. I think I can add Live Oak to my guarantee buy then. Even if I can't go to the store to buy it myself I have lots of family and friends in Austin to buy it for me.

It's excellent. $13.99 a 12-pack at Total Wine - can't beat that price or the quality of the beer.
